Terms of Use

These are the Terms of Use for Mediafine Global (hereinafter "the Service"). This site is a multilingual extension of the Korean media company Mediafine (hereinafter "the Company", www.mediafine.co.kr), and while based on the Company's Terms of Use, it includes additional provisions for global operations.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set forth the conditions for using the multilingual news translation services provided by Mediafine Global.

Article 2 (Service Description)

  • Automatic translation of Korean articles published by the Company, Mediafine, into English, Japanese, and Vietnamese
  • Limited to the K-Wave (Celebrity / K-Pop / K-Drama / K-Movie / K-Variety / K-Culture / K-Travel) category
  • Translation processing via an AI automated pipeline (Gemma)

Article 3 (Copyright)

  • Copyright of the original articles belongs to the Company, Mediafine
  • The Company holds the copyright to the translated versions, and Mediafine Global is granted the right to use them
  • Site design, logos, and code are the proprietary assets of Mediafine
  • Users are permitted only for quotation and sharing for personal, non-commercial purposes; unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use is strictly prohibited
  • Attribution: When sharing, the Mediafine Global URL must be displayed
  • Automated scraping and crawling are prohibited (excluding search engine bots)

Article 4 (Response to Copyright Infringement)

In the event of copyright infringement, the Company may take the following measures:

  • Requests for post deletion or access blocking
  • Removal of search engine indexing (e.g., Google DMCA)
  • Pursuit of civil and criminal liability

Article 5 (Protection of Minors)

This Service complies with the following standards to protect minors under the age of 19:

  • Prohibition of posting content related to obscenity, violence, gambling, or drugs
  • Automatic filtering of articles that exceed the negativity score threshold in AI automated classification
  • Compliance with COPPA (US protection for under 13), GDPR-K (EU protection for under 16), and the Vietnam Cybersecurity Law

Article 6 (Disclaimer for AI Automated Translation)

  • All articles on this site are automatically translated by AI (based on Gemma)
  • While translation quality is automatically verified, articles do not undergo 1:1 review by human editors
  • In the event of a discrepancy in meaning between the original text and the translation, the original site shall prevail
  • The Service shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from translation errors

Article 7 (User Obligations)

  • Compliance with these Terms and relevant laws and regulations
  • Prohibition of acts that interfere with the Service, such as scraping, DDoS attacks, or unauthorized collection of emails
  • Prohibition of posting comments that constitute defamation, false facts, or are harmful to minors

Article 8 (Service Modification and Suspension)

Article 9 (Jurisdiction)

The interpretation of these Terms and any disputes shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court shall serve as the court of first instance.

Article 10 (Addendum)

These Terms shall enter into force on May 14, 2026. In the event of a conflict with the Company's Mediafine Terms, the Company's Terms shall prevail.
