Jo Jung-suk Says His Middle School First Love Married the Person She Once Introduced to Him

Actor Jo Jung-suk revealed on YouTube on the 19th a story about an unexpected reunion with the first love he dated during his school years.

Jo visited the Banghwa-dong area of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, the neighborhood he described as his hometown. As he looked around places filled with memories from his childhood, he shared episodes from his student days.

While sitting in a neighborhood cafe and thinking back on memories with childhood friends, Jo brought up the girlfriend he had dated in middle school. He recalled, "I had a girlfriend in middle school. At that age, even going to eat tteokbokki made me nervous because I wondered whether our hands might brush against each other."

Jo then explained that many years later, he was talking with friends at a cafe when a family walked in. The woman turned out to be the girlfriend he had dated in middle school. She arrived with her child and husband, and Jo recognized the husband as someone he knew. According to Jo, the man was connected to him from a church they had once attended together, and he was also the person that former girlfriend had introduced to Jo in the past.

He said the reunion felt remarkable because so much time had passed since they had last seen each other. Jo added that the moment remained especially warm and memorable, and he said he found himself wondering whether he might run into her again that day.

Jo Jung-suk married singer Gummy in 2018, and the couple have two daughters.
