T-ARA Boram's Mother Lee Mi-young Reveals Life-Changing Mistake During Lip Procedure

Recently, actress Lee Mi-young appeared on MBN's 'While You Were Sick' and revealed the difficulties she faced regarding her lips. She opened up, saying, "This is the first time I am talking about my lips on broadcast." She continued, "I want to speak about it now. I want to tell you how much hardship I went through."

She went on to explain, "Actually, the members of my family have full lips. When I was in my 30s, my juniors told me that if my lips were just a little fuller, I would look very sexy. At that time, fillers like we have now didn't exist. Someone from the United States came and offered to perform a procedure. I decided to try it because I was told it would eventually be excreted through urine. In conclusion, they had used an industrial product that does not get excreted through urine for the procedure."

Yoon Jeong-su reacted by asking, "Isn't that too dangerous?" Lee Mi-young replied, "It was dangerous, but at the time, I thought it was okay, so I took two injections. I only had a little bit done, but I should have had it in the center; because it was injected at both ends of the lips, the position was wrong and it flipped completely. For a while, I received malicious comments like 'What's wrong with her lips?'" revealing that it was a procedure she should never have done.

She further shared, "At first, I was rejected from historical dramas, and after that, almost all drama casting opportunities were cut off. I received all kinds of insults, which caused a lot of stress. It was a massive, once-in-a-lifetime mistake for me. I took the injections to become prettier, but it went wrong, and I had to undergo surgery twice. Even after scraping it out, they said there were many errors."

She expressed her current feelings, saying, "I am satisfied now. I went through so much suffering. I made a big decision. Through this broadcast, I would be grateful if many viewers could look upon me kindly. I hope you can see that I have lived regretting that one mistake. These are my lips now. Please do not misunderstand and look upon them beautifully."

Lee Mi-young married singer Jeon Young-rok in 1985 and had two daughters, but they divorced in 1997. She remarried an American in 2003 but divorced in 2005. Her eldest daughter, Jeon Boram, was active as a member of the girl group T-ARA from 2009 to 2017. Her second daughter, Jeon Woo-ram, also worked as a singer.
