Han Ga-in, the Surprising Reason She Announced a Broken Engagement Just Two Days Before Marrying Yeon Jung-hoon
Han Ga-in revealed that she declared she would not marry Yeon Jung-hoon just two days before their wedding. Despite the near-cancellation, the couple has maintained their marriage for nearly 20 years.
Han Ga-in has revealed for the first time that she declared, "I will not marry," just two days before her wedding with Yeon Jung-hoon. Although they have been a married couple for nearly 20 years, they actually faced a crisis of breaking off the engagement right before the actual wedding.
On the 7th, Han Ga-in appeared on Sean's YouTube channel 'With Sean' and spoke about her married life with Yeon Jung-hoon. Stating that they almost never fight, she revealed that they have only had major arguments about 3 or 4 times in 20 years, making it a handful of instances.
The first major marital fight occurred when their child was sick. Han Ga-in explained, "Because we both became sensitive, we ended up fighting," noting that there were times they clashed while trying to raise the child in the way each of them wanted. However, she mentioned that because the points that make them angry are different, major conflicts do not occur frequently.
She also spoke candidly about her thoughts on the "slump" period in a relationship. Han Ga-in said that love after marriage takes a different form than during dating, saying, "It feels like the temperature changes." Then, she suddenly brought up a shocking story from just before the wedding, saying, "Actually, I don't think I've told this anywhere."
Han Ga-in confessed, "Two days before the wedding, I said I wouldn't do it." She surprised everyone by revealing that at the time, Yeon Jung-hoon even went to her filming set in person. It was essentially a sudden declaration of a broken engagement with the wedding right around the corner.
The reason was Yeon Jung-hoon's friends. At the time, many of Yeon Jung-hoon's friends had traveled from the United States to South Korea for the wedding, and Han Ga-in said that while she was busy with filming, she watched Yeon Jung-hoon spending frantic time hanging out with his friends.
Seeing this, Han Ga-in thought it would be problematic if Yeon Jung-hoon continued to live that way even after marriage. In particular, the two's lifestyle patterns were complete opposites. While Han Ga-in was an early bird, Yeon Jung-hoon was a typical night owl.
Han Ga-in recalled that it was also difficult to understand that 2 or 3 in the morning was not a late hour to Yeon Jung-hoon. For her, it was the middle of the night, but for Yeon Jung-hoon, it was a time when the day had not yet ended.
Ultimately, with Han Ga-in declaring the broken engagement just two days before the wedding, the wedding itself almost fell through. However, Yeon Jung-hoon went to Han Ga-in's filming set to persuade her, and the two eventually held the wedding as scheduled. For the couple who has continued their married life for nearly 20 years, it has become a past crisis they can now talk about with a laugh.
