Singer Jang Yoon-jeong brought laughter by exposing her husband Do Kyung-wan's extraordinary pride in his "wife luck." Do Kyung-wan reportedly considers himself the husband with the most wife luck in the entertainment industry, and Jang Yoon-jeong continued their characteristic honest couple talk by mentioning the significant difference in their wealth as the basis for this.

On the afternoon of the 4th, Jang Yoon-jeong appeared as a guest on the SBS variety show "My Little Old Boy" and shared stories about her married life and her husband Do Kyung-wan. During the broadcast, stories of stars considered to be "husbands with a lot of wife luck" in the entertainment industry became a hot topic.

Seo Jang-hoon mentioned Jang Hang-jun, Lee Sang-soon, and Do Kyung-wan as representative examples and asked Jang Yoon-jeong, "Who do you think has the most luck?" The question was based on the idea that while everyone lives with their spouse in their own way, there are interesting commonalities when looking at the wife's fame, economic power, or social activities.

Jang Yoon-jeong did not hesitate to bring up a conversation she had with Do Kyung-wan. She said, "We have had such a conversation before," noting that Do Kyung-wan has also ranked his own "wife luck." She then caused a wave of laughter in the studio by adding, "Among them, he is certainly the one living without having to walk on eggshells."

While the statement that her husband lives without walking on eggshells around her might sound like an ordinary couple's joke, it holds a peculiar meaning for the Jang Yoon-jeong couple. Their marriage has long been a subject of public interest, and since Jang Yoon-jeong has enjoyed top-tier popularity in the trot industry, secular interests such as "who earns more" have followed even after their marriage.

Jang Yoon-jeong went even further. Along with the explanation that Do Kyung-wan considers himself "#1 in wife luck," she added, "He said that among them, the (wealth) difference is the greatest." Rather than hiding the economic difference between the couple or treating it heavily, she drew laughter by using it as a subject for public jokes.

Traditionally, the economic difference between a married couple has been considered a quite sensitive issue in Korean society. Especially since there were strong traditional gender role perceptions that men should have economic superiority over women, public interest tended to increase when couples appeared where the wife possessed much higher economic power than the husband. For celebrity couples, this is easily combined with fame and image, making private economic relationships easy topics for public discussion.

The way Jang Yoon-jeong and Do Kyung-wan handle this is therefore even more interesting. Rather than trying to hide or explain the economic difference, they lower the tension between themselves by resolving their relationship through laughter. Do Kyung-wan also wittily accepts his situation with the expression "wife luck," and Jang Yoon-jeong turns this back into a joke on a public broadcast.

This scene of a marital relationship also shows the significantly changed family culture in Korea compared to the past. While in the past, the fact that a wife's income was higher than her husband's was accepted as an important factor explaining the dynamics of the marital relationship, there are now increasing numbers of couples who recognize each other's economic roles and accept them as part of the relationship. Of course, in reality, economic differences can be a cause of conflict, but there are cases like the Jang Yoon-jeong and Do Kyung-wan couple who convert this into a language of humor and intimacy.

Ultimately, what drew the most attention in Jang Yoon-jeong's remarks that day was not simply the question of who is richer. The sight of husband Do Kyung-wan describing his marriage as "#1 in wife luck" and Jang Yoon-jeong countering with laughter by bringing up the wealth difference was a scene that showcased their relationship. In that they can digest even a sensitive subject like economic power as a joke, another aspect of the married life of the Jang Yoon-jeong and Do Kyung-wan couple was revealed, showing they comfortably acknowledge each other's positions.
