Broadcaster Ji Yeon-soo has finally quit the gomtang restaurant where she was working to make a living. The reason was an injury to her right arm. Although she continued to work while enduring the pain, a proper examination at the hospital revealed that the muscle damage was severe, resulting in a diagnosis that she must not work for the time being. Nevertheless, Ji Yeon-soo stated that rather than completely stepping away from work, she is looking for a new part-time job while undergoing treatment.

On the 5th, Ji Yeon-soo shared her recent status through her YouTube channel 'Ji Yeon-su's Yeonsuropda'. While speaking with her close friend, reporter Yoo Su-gyeong, she first revealed the story of why she had to quit the gomtang restaurant.

Ji Yeon-soo explained, "I resigned due to an injury to my right arm. I am on leave for the time being." She added, "I had been experiencing continuous pain and was only receiving physical therapy. But when I went to get proper treatment, they told me my muscle was completely torn and that I shouldn't work." The pain, which she had endured thinking it was just simple muscle pain, actually led to an injury severe enough to require her to stop working.

She explained that the injury did not occur suddenly one day, but was the result of accumulated strain being revealed all at once. During her time working at a wedding shop in the past, repetitive motions such as pulling customers' arms for dress fittings continued, and the strain on her arm kept building up even after that. Ji Yeon-soo said, "Since I was working in a strained state, it felt like the accumulated tension finally burst."

The problem is that even though she must rest from work, she is not in a situation where she can stop her livelihood. Ji Yeon-soo stated that while focusing on treatment, she is looking for a new part-time job. "I am looking for part-time jobs in my spare time," she said, "I am searching for part-time jobs within a 10-minute walk and submitting resumes."

She further emphasized, "I won't just sit around." Although she can no longer continue her current job immediately due to the injury, she revealed her will to continue her life by finding other work that fits her physical condition. It clearly shows that even a famous broadcaster can be a single worker who must choose and find work in the face of realistic living expenses.

In Ji Yeon-soo's case, she has disclosed stories related to her livelihood several times. The reason she revealed she was working part-time at a gomtang restaurant while hiding the fact that she is a broadcaster was to prepare for living expenses and child support. As it is a situation where it is difficult to secure a stable income through entertainment activities alone, this injury inevitably carries a different weight than simply quitting one job, as she has been seeking jobs directly to sustain her life.

Recently, another change has come to Ji Yeon-soo. It is her attitude toward online comments directed at her. She confessed that in the past, she was even afraid to check malicious comments. Looking back at the past, she said, "I couldn't read the comments. It was such a scary and difficult task that I had to take stabilizers to be able to calm down to read them."

However, she said her mindset has changed to the point where she actually waits for comments now. Ji Yeon-soo said, "In the past, it was so hard that I couldn't even sleep if I read the comments, but these days I feel like my day is joyful," adding, "I can't believe there are days like this for me." She added, "It's good for me, but I wonder how much my mother will like it."

Public interest surrounding the private lives and family histories of celebrities sometimes returns as pressure that is difficult for the parties involved to handle. Especially when personal areas such as divorce, child-rearing, and economic issues are consumed publicly, there is a high possibility that the person involved will be exposed to malicious comments and evaluations for a long time, regardless of the facts. Ji Yeon-soo's confession that she could not even properly read comments in the past shows that the burden was significant.

Ji Yeon-soo married Eli, who is from the group U-KISS, in 2014 and had a son, but they divorced in 2020. Since then, she has been raising her son alone. Eli's news of remarriage was recently announced, and the two have publicly expressed different positions regarding the issue of child support. Ji Yeon-soo previously stated, "I receive 850,000 won. The minimum child support is 640,000 won."

Ultimately, what is most striking in this recent update is Ji Yeon-soo's way of organizing her daily life rather than the injury itself. While temporarily setting aside her existing job because her body cannot keep up, she is submitting resumes for new part-time jobs that she can walk to. Her statement that she "won't just sit around" amidst long-standing economic burdens and labor fatigue shows her reality as a person living her life more clearly than her image as a glamorous broadcaster.

What Ji Yeon-soo needs now might not be another glamorous comeback, but time to recover her body while sustaining her life. The fact that resting from work can be a process for working again, and the process of gradually breaking away from the evaluations of others to reclaim her own life, can be read as the biggest change in this recent update.
