Kim Young-ok actively discourages daughter-in-law from preparing memorial service food, calling her 'high-level talent'
Kim Young-ok revealed the special reason why she does not let her daughter-in-law take charge of preparing memorial service food. It is not because she is incapable, but rather because the daughter-in-law is so capable and lives such a hardworking life that Kim feels apologetic about assigning her work, using the unique expression "high-level talent."
Kim Young-ok revealed a special reason why she does not entrust the preparation of memorial service food to her daughter-in-law. It is not simply because she is unable to do the work, but rather because the daughter-in-law is so good at it and lives such a hardworking life that she feels apologetic about assigning her tasks. The unique expression "high-level talent" drew attention.
In a video released on her YouTube channel on the 7th, Kim Young-ok shared family stories while traveling to Ganghwado Island with her managers. During the trip, she opened up about her thoughts regarding her daughter-in-law while recalling the image of her grandmother that she observed during her childhood.
Kim Young-ok recalled that when her grandmother's daughter-in-law struggled and could not perform tasks properly, the grandmother did most of the housework herself. She even mentioned seeing her grandmother, who was 85 years old, sewing quilts herself until one year before she passed away, saying, "I wondered if trying to be self-sufficient when I get old is something passed down in my family."
Perhaps because of those memories, Kim Young-ok said she is not good at entrusting work to others. She confessed, "I try not to assign tasks. It is also a bad habit."
Recently, a new concern arose when her daughter-in-law stepped forward to prepare the memorial service food herself. The daughter-in-law said she would come on the 24th to prepare the food, and although she seasons food well and cooks quite well, Kim Young-ok reportedly discouraged her instead.
The reason was unexpected. Kim Young-ok described her daughter-in-law as "high-level talent." She is cautious about asking her daughter-in-law, who lives life diligently even on her days off, to prepare memorial service food, fearing it might be similar to her own past.
Kim Young-ok repeatedly emphasized, "It's not that I'm telling her not to do it because I don't trust her." Rather, knowing that her daughter-in-law wants to personally attend to her father-in-law's memorial service, she revealed that she tried to ease the burden by saying things like, "At least sleep in before you come," and "We don't do much."
Nevertheless, the daughter-in-law did not budge on her intention to come. After hanging up the phone, Kim Young-ok smiled and said, "I felt grateful." A mother-in-law trying not to assign work and a daughter-in-law insisting on taking care of the memorial service—the mutual consideration for one another created a heartwarming family story.
