Park Ha-sun's Twist: "My Parents Told Me to Stop Coming" After Running Away from Home Following Fights with Ryu Soo-young
Actress Park Ha-sun candidly revealed her past of leaving home after arguments with her husband, Ryu Soo-young, and shared how her parents eventually told her to stop coming back to them.
Actress Park Ha-sun has candidly revealed her past of leaving home after having marital arguments with her husband, Ryu Soo-young. Watching a wife leave the house every time a fight occurs, Park Ha-sun brought up her own experience, confessing, "My parents told me to stop coming [to them]." She noted that there is a difference between taking a brief distance to compose one's emotions and the act of leaving the house every time a conflict arises.
In the JTBC entertainment program 'Divorce Camp' broadcast on the 8th, a domestic investigation was conducted for the "Fair Couple" of the 25th group. On this day, the husband pointed to the wife's repeated running away from home after marital fights as one of her problems. He expressed frustration, stating that whenever a fight breaks out, his wife leaves the house to spend time drinking at a friend's house.
The husband of the Fair Couple said, "If you are a married couple, shouldn't you resolve things within the house even if you fight?" expressing difficulty in understanding the situation where his wife leaves the house whenever a conflict occurs. He claimed it felt like she left the house about once a week recently, explaining that there were two or three instances of her staying out overnight within the last two months. According to the husband, marital fights did not just end as temporary emotional clashes but sometimes led to situations similar to long-term separation.
In particular, the husband claimed that an instance where he fell asleep forgetting to give the child a bath led to an overnight absence. He shared the situation at the time, saying he received a long KakaoTalk message from his wife stating, "I forgot the bath, so I'm staying out overnight." The wife also sent a message to the effect that she would return if the housework was done, but after checking via a home cam that the husband had not done the housework properly, she said she would not return. The husband eventually lamented that "she didn't come back for 5 days."
Watching this, Park Ha-sun carefully brought up her past experience. She revealed that she had also left the house after marital fights, saying, "If you keep leaving, it seems to become a habit. I used to do that a lot in the past." She then drew the attention of the cast by adding, "Then my parents told me to stop coming [to them]." Based on her experience, she pointed out that repeated running away from home could create other problems rather than resolving conflicts.
Park Ha-sun explained that her way of resolving conflicts changed after she stopped the behavior of leaving the house. She said, "Once I pulled myself together and decided to resolve things at home no matter what, other solutions emerged," and added, "If this continues, it's easy to drift apart, and I feel like we might end up divorcing." The implication is that if the choice to leave home to avoid immediate emotions is repeated, the opportunity to coordinate each other's positions decreases, eventually leading to a situation where it is difficult to restore the relationship.
Lee Dong-gun also expressed concern regarding the situation of the Fair Couple. Regarding the wife's behavior, he pointed out, "It is now completely habitual running away." He emphasized that there is a difference in meaning between stepping away for a moment to calm emotions and being away from home for more than two days, noting that temporary distancing can turn into long-term avoidance of conflict.
It is difficult to completely eliminate fighting between a married couple. What is important is how to handle it when a conflict occurs. While stepping away from the scene for a moment in a situation where emotions are heightened can be a way to reduce confrontation, if one leaves the house for a long time without sufficient explanation to the partner or uses it as a repetitive response method, problem-solving can become more difficult. Conversely, rather than just prioritizing the principle that everything must be resolved inside the house, it is also necessary to agree on a time to organize emotions and a time to resume conversation.
Park Ha-sun married actor Ryu Soo-young in 2017 and gave birth to a daughter in August of the same year. The past anecdote revealed in this broadcast went beyond curiosity about the private lives of a celebrity couple and made one think about what kind of impact behavior intended to avoid conflict can have on a relationship. Rather than judging whether the act of leaving home is right or wrong, it showed that identifying the cause of repeated conflicts and finding a way for the two to solve them together is the starting point for relationship recovery.
