Park Jin-young shields Kim You-jung from bomb blast, only to interrogate her as a spy the next day
In the tvN drama '100 Days of Deception,' Park Jin-young's character protects Kim You-jung during a terrorist bombing, only to turn on her with intense suspicion a day later.
Following a bomb terror attack at the Gisonggwan opening ceremony, Kim Tae-woong interrogated Lee Ga-gyeong about being a spy during the episode of '100 Days of Deception' aired on the 8th. The confrontation occurred just one day after Kim Tae-woong used his body to protect Lee Ga-gyeong from the explosion.
Actor Park Jin-young provided intense tension by shielding Kim You-jung with his entire body during a bomb terror attack, only to interrogate her the next day with a murderous gaze, asking, "You're a spy, aren't you?" As trust and suspicion cross between the characters, the secret of Kim You-jung, who is hiding her true identity, faces the danger of being discovered, gripping the viewers' hearts.
The episode of tvN's '100 Days of Deception' aired on the 8th depicted a bomb terror attack at the Gisonggwan opening ceremony and its aftermath. The banquet hall, which should have been filled with celebration and joy, instantly turned into chaos as the hidden identities and complex relationships of the characters were revealed all at once, heightening the drama's tension.
At the moment a bomb hidden in the banquet hall cake was set to explode, Sato Shinichi (played by Jin Seon-kyu) received breaking news from Tokyo that Prime Minister Inukai had been attacked. He immediately halted the banquet, and while attendees left in confusion, Yoo So-ran (played by Kim Hyun-joo) grabbed a knife and chased after Sato Shinichi. However, the person who attacked Sato Shinichi first was another Japanese National Salvation Corps member, Song Jeon.
Lee Ga-gyeong (played by Kim You-jung) fell while trying to move the cake containing the bomb and shouted, "Please come out quickly!" toward Kim Tae-woong (whose Japanese name is Sato Hideo, played by Park Jin-young). At that exact moment, the bomb exploded. Even as he was thrown by the impact of the explosion, Kim Tae-woong protected Lee Ga-gyeong by covering her with his body. His instinctive action to protect her even in a life-threatening moment offered a glimpse into the depth of emotion flowing between the two.
After the explosion, Lee Ga-gyeong was the first to regain consciousness in the ruined banquet hall and searched desperately for Kim Tae-woong, calling out, "Interpreter!" Once Kim Tae-woong opened his eyes, a relieved Lee Ga-gyeong went to look for Yoo So-ran, while Kim Tae-woong also fell into confusion searching for the missing Geum Seo-hee. Amidst the aftermath of the explosion that crossed the line between life and death, the characters were shown in a frantic search for their loved ones.
The confrontation between Sato Shinichi and Song Jeon ended more brutally. After overpowering Song Jeon through a violent struggle, Sato Shinichi shot him directly, killing him as he shouted, "Long live South Korea." Yoo So-ran, arriving late at the scene, sobbed while closing the eyes of her comrade Song Jeon, but was wounded by gunfire from Fukuda (played by Kim Jung-hee). As Yoo So-ran narrowly escaped the scene with Yoo Philip (played by Lee Moo-saeng), one of her earrings fell to the floor, hinting at another crisis.
Concerned about Yoo So-ran's safety, Lee Ga-gyeong discovered unexpected items on the train to Incheon: a letter and castella left by Yoo So-ran. The letter contained a sincere request: "My daughter and I could not do so, but you must go to the United States and live happily." Facing the trip to the United States she had dreamed of so much, Lee Ga-gyeong ultimately got off the train. Her decision to choose protecting Yoo So-ran over her own happiness clearly revealed the mother-daughter-like affection built between the two.
Lee Ga-gyeong returned and appeared at a decisive moment when Kim Tae-woong was about to check a drawer, suspicious of Yoo So-ran's earring. With her characteristic quick wit, she successfully covered up the earring and the issue of Yoo So-ran's shoulder injury, overcoming the crisis. Although Yoo So-ran scolded her like a biological mother for giving up her trip to the United States, the two provided a touching moment as they confirmed a deep affection, regarding each other as mother and daughter.
However, before the emotion could fade, the atmosphere of the drama froze abruptly. In the latter half of the broadcast, Sato Shinichi began to suspect not only Yoo So-ran and Lee Ga-gyeong but also his adopted son, Kim Tae-woong. Sato Shinichi's appearance as he began to doubt the identities and actions of the surrounding characters predicted the upcoming conflicts and maximized the tension.
The decisive scene unfolded between Lee Ga-gyeong and Kim Tae-woong when they returned to work the next day. With a cold expression, Kim Tae-woong pressed Lee Ga-gyeong, asking, "What should I call Geum Seo-hee? Geum Seo-hee? Or Lee Gaeddong?" As the bewildered Lee Ga-gyeong stood there without knowing the reason, Kim Tae-woong approached her step by step and finally threw the shocking question, "You're a spy, aren't you?" with a murderous gaze.
It was a dramatic reversal where Kim Tae-woong, who had protected Lee Ga-gyeong with his body at the moment of the explosion, questioned her identity just one day later. The broadcast ended on a suspenseful note, amplifying curiosity about what kind of catastrophe will meet the relationship of the two, which shifted rapidly from a moment of salvation to a moment of suspicion, and how much of Lee Ga-gyeong's secret has been revealed to Kim Tae-woong.
