Sunwoo Yong-yeo's hand "destroyed" during filming: "If you brag, you get hurt"

“If you brag about being good at something, you get hurt like this.” Actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo suffered burns after spilling hot water on her hand during filming. She tried to brush it off as nothing, but as the pain persisted, she eventually had to visit a hospital, and filming was halted.

On the 1st, a video was released on the YouTube channel ‘Sunpung Sunwoo Yong-yeo’ in which Sunwoo Yong-yeo introduces kitchenware and items she uses daily. On this day, Sunwoo Yong-yeo attempted to brew drip bag coffee she received from a cafe, but while pouring hot water into the cup, she spilled the water on her hand.

Although the production crew had previously urged her to be careful, Sunwoo Yong-yeo showed confidence, saying, “What if a housewife can't even do that much?” However, the situation changed instantly as soon as the hot water touched her hand. Even in her shock, she laughed it off, saying, “I was just trying to make delicious coffee, and that's how my hand got destroyed.”

At first, she said she would just apply burn ointment and not go to the hospital. However, as her hand continued to sting even after time had passed, she eventually visited a dermatology clinic. Sunwoo Yong-yeo revealed that a similar incident happened in the past, saying, “Even when filming a drama, I just poured hot water on my hand to make coffee.” She surprised those around her by revealing that at that time, blisters had risen after she returned home, so she treated them herself.

Fortunately, it did not lead to a major injury, but filming was ultimately suspended. Because she could not use her hand properly, she was unable to make the scheduled spaghetti, and the production crew resumed filming two days later. Sunwoo Yong-yeo later joked on her channel, saying, “My hand was destroyed while bragging about making delicious coffee,” and while acting nonchalant by saying, “It's no big deal,” she urged viewers, “You must be careful not to get hurt.”

In the subsequent reveal of her refrigerator and pantry, Sunwoo Yong-yeo's simple daily life was also disclosed. She showed 50-year-old ritual vessels and shared stories of how she performed ancestral rites for her husband's grandfather, husband's mother, and husband as an eldest daughter-in-law in the past, and she drew laughter by saying regarding expensive yogurt, “If it's going into my mouth, I should eat the expensive stuff. Look at how old I am.”

As a small accident she tried to brush off led to hospital treatment and a halt in filming, it seems extra caution is needed when handling hot water, just as she said.
