Ock Joo-hyun calls for apology from Kim Ho-young, then urges fans to stay healthy

Ock Joo-hyun, a musical actress and former member of the group Fin.K.L, shared an update on her recent life, delivering a health management message to her fans after revisiting the past 'Ok-jang-pan controversy.'

On the 19th, Ock posted a video on her social media (SNS) with the caption, “Watch out for tonsillitis and laryngitis. Please be careful. I also highly recommend frequent salt gargles.”

In the video, Ock, wearing a scarf around her neck, introduced ways to manage health during the summer. She revealed her daily life as a musical actress, for whom throat health is crucial due to long hours of performances and practice, stating, “The air conditioning is so strong wherever I go these days that it’s not great if I don't wear this,” adding, “That's why I must always bring it with me.”

Ock's post garnered attention as it served as an update following the recent resurgence of the 'Ok-jang-pan controversy.'

Previously, regarding the casting controversy for the musical 'Elisabeth' that occurred in 2022, Ock revisited the incident by demanding a public apology from Kim Ho-young. She had previously filed a defamation lawsuit against Kim but later withdrew it, expressing that she had not received a proper apology since then.

The controversy began when Kim posted on his SNS at the time, “The term 'Asari-pan' (a mess) is a thing of the past. Now it's 'Ok-jang-pan' (a floor mat).” The controversy spread as interpretations emerged that the expression was aimed at Ock in relation to allegations of preferential treatment during the casting process for the musical 'Elisabeth.'

Following this, Ock took legal action, claiming the post defamed her, but the matter seemed to settle when she withdrew the complaint. However, the conflict from four years ago resurfaced recently when Ock mentioned the situation again, stating, “I have never received a sincere apology.”

Kim's side has not released a separate official statement to date.

Since her activities with Fin.K.L, Ock transitioned to becoming a musical actress and established herself as a leading figure in the domestic musical industry, playing lead roles in major productions such as 'Elisabeth,' 'Rebecca,' and 'Mata Hari.' As she is widely recognized for her outstanding vocal abilities and stage presence, the controversy continues to draw significant interest from within the performing arts community.
