Baek Il-seop, 10 Years After His 'Graduation Marriage,' Says His Dogs Leave No Room for Loneliness at 82
Actor Baek Il-seop shared an update on life 10 years after his graduation marriage, saying his dogs Jenny and Kkamang keep him from feeling lonely.
Actor Baek Il-seop shared a glimpse of his life 10 years after announcing his so-called graduation marriage, emphasizing the affection he feels for his companion dogs. The update came on the 4th through his YouTube channel, "Kkokko Halbae Baek Il-seop."

While eating with the production team, Baek said, "There is no food I am picky about. The only thing I do not eat is dog meat." He then said, "Photos of the kids come from the hotel," and showed the staff pictures of his dogs Jenny and Kkamang, who had been left at a pet hotel while he traveled. Looking at the screen of his mobile phone, he smiled with clear satisfaction.
Baek described the comfort his dogs bring to his daily routine. "When they are at home, they act cute and ask for snacks. If I do not give them any and just watch TV, they bark because they want snacks," he said. "Because they are here, life is not lonely, and they help me a lot."
He went on to express contentment with his present life, saying, "Because I have companion dogs, I do not have time to feel that I am alone or lonely. I really think it was a good decision to raise them."
Baek was born in 1944. He married in 1980 and has one son and one daughter, but in 2016 he made public that he and his wife had entered a graduation marriage. The term refers to a newly coined expression in which a married couple does not divorce but lives separately, each leading their own life. Baek Il-seop was the first to use the expression.
