Hwang Sung-bin to showcase new charm in 'My Bias, My Boss'

Actor Hwang Sung-bin is maintaining his rising momentum, following his role in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Agent Kim Reactivated' with a casting announcement for the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'My Bias, My Boss'. After leaving a lasting impression on viewers as an intense villain, he is set to showcase a new side by transforming into a bright and positive character.

On the 21st, his agency P&B Entertainment announced, “Hwang Sung-bin has been cast in the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'My Bias, My Boss'.”

Set to premiere on August 3, 'My Bias, My Boss' is an office growth romance drama that follows Nam Da-reum, a new employee who joins a company to meet her favorite star and unexpectedly becomes the 'bias employee.'

In the drama, Hwang takes on the role of Min-woo. Min-woo is the best friend of Kang Ha-gi (played by Kang Hun), a character who is always by his side to listen to his worries and offer unwavering support. With a bright and cheerful personality, he serves as a breath of fresh air, delivering positive energy to those around him.

In particular, attention is focused on the unique chemistry Hwang will display, as he is expected to undergo an unexpected shift in relationships after becoming entangled with Mimi (played by Jiho) due to a chance encounter.

Hwang previously left a strong impression playing Seong Min-ho in the SBS drama 'Agent Kim Reactivated.' In that series, Seong Min-ho was a problematic individual and a friend of Joo Hye-ri (played by Yoo Ji-an), the daughter of Joo Kang-chan (played by Joo Sang-wook), who threatened the daughter of Agent Kim (played by So Ji-sub).

Specifically, he was the character who provided the decisive trigger that caused Agent Kim to lose his daughter and fully awaken, heightening the tension of the drama. The subsequent scene where he was subdued and punished by Agent Kim garnered significant attention, providing viewers with a strong sense of catharsis.

At the time, Hwang was praised for showing a presence unexpected of a rookie by convincingly portraying the 'villain' Seong Min-ho, characterized by rough speech and unstable emotions.

However, in 'My Bias, My Boss,' he takes on a character with a completely different vibe. Moving away from a figure at the center of conflict and malice, he is expected to demonstrate a wide acting spectrum by transforming into a warm and humanly charming supporter.
