JTBC's 'New Employee Chairman Kang' Climbs to Network Weekend Drama Ratings High
JTBC weekend drama 'New Employee Chairman Kang' reached a new 2026 high for the network's Saturday-Sunday dramas, with a peak of 8.1% in the Seoul metro area.
JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama "New Employee Chairman Kang" continued its sharp ratings climb as its fourth episode aired, setting a new minute-by-minute peak for the series.

According to ratings research company Nielsen Korea on June 7, the previous day's broadcast of "New Employee Chairman Kang" recorded 6.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 6.7% nationwide. The figures mark the highest viewership ratings this year for a JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama. Its highest minute-by-minute rating reached 8.1% in the metropolitan area, extending the upward trend that began with 3.7% for the first episode and continued with 5.2% for the second.
In the third episode aired the previous day, Hwang Jun-hyun, a "dirt spoon" character whose body has become the vessel for the soul of Kang Yong-ho, chairman of Choi Sung Group, began digging into why the group's twin sibling presidents, Kang Jae-kyung, played by Jeon Hye-jin, and Kang Jae-sung, played by Jin Goo, allowed their half-sibling Kang Bang-ul, played by Lee Ju-myoung, to join the company.
Hwang Jun-hyun discovered that Kang Bang-ul had handed over part of her assets to the twin presidents in order to enter the company. He also learned that she had been attending company dinners across all departments to understand the internal situation at the firm.
During an intern presentation, Hwang Jun-hyun indirectly exposed Kang Jae-sung's slush fund of 300 billion won. He then mobilized the team he belonged to, ultimately taking control of the money himself and beginning a full-scale act of revenge against the twin presidents.
"New Employee Chairman Kang" is a reminder-life drama about Kang Yong-ho, played by Son Hyun-joo, the chairman of Choi Sung Group and a man known as a god of business, who is forced by an accident into an unwanted second round of life.
