Kim Ji-young reveals how collaboration increased her scenes in 'Agent Kim Reactivated'

Actress Kim Ji-young has revealed behind-the-scenes details regarding her special appearance in the SBS drama 'Agent Kim Reactivated.' She explained that while she was originally scheduled to appear in only one scene, the proactive input from the production team and fellow actors led to two additional scenes being added, resulting in three total appearances.

On the 26th, during a video released on Hwang Jung-eum's YouTube Channel, Kim met with actors Hwang Jung-eum and Bae Soo-bin to discuss their past projects and recent activities.

During the meeting, Hwang reminisced about the filming set of the KBS 2TV drama 'Secret,' which she starred in with Bae 13 years ago. "At first, I couldn't get a feel for it. I kept asking Soo-bin oppa, but he would say, 'Actually, I don't know either,'" Hwang remarked. "We were moving forward by cooperating and helping each other."

In response, Kim brought up her experience as a guest star in the recently concluded SBS drama 'Agent Kim Reactivated.' Kim appeared as the wife of Yoon Kyung-ho's character, leaving a strong impression despite her limited screen time.

Her appearance was originally planned for just one scene. However, as the potential to utilize the character and the storyline grew during filming, the role was expanded to three appearances.

"It was supposed to be one scene, but they used two more, making it three," Kim explained. She noted that it wasn't just about the increased screen time, but rather the impressive way actors and the production team actively exchanged ideas on set.

In particular, she noted, "'Agent Kim Reactivated' was truly like that. They hold 'strategy meetings,' asking, 'How should we do this?' They even offer ideas even if it's not their own role."

She suggested that the atmosphere on set—where actors do not merely perform their own lines but offer opinions to improve the overall quality of the production—heightened the immersion of the work. "It ends right there. That makes filming so much fun," Kim shared regarding the atmosphere at the time.

Bae agreed, noting, "I think all successful dramas are like that."

Kim's remarks highlight how 'Agent Kim Reactivated' relied not only on individual acting talent but also on the organic collaboration of the crew to expand scenes and enhance quality. The process by which a character intended to be a one-time cameo ended up appearing three times serves as an example of providing unexpected enjoyment to viewers.
