Girls' Generation's Kwon Yuri Reveals Realistic Struggles of Living on Jeju Island

Girls' Generation member and actress Kwon Yuri's independent life on Jeju Island was revealed through a variety show, highlighting the realistic residential challenges that exist behind a nature-friendly lifestyle.

In the episode of MBC's variety show 'Home Alone' broadcast on the 3rd, while the Rainbow Club members engaged in a summer retreat concept, a preview for the next episode partially revealed Kwon Yuri's daily life living in Jeju.

In the video, Kwon Yuri appeared to be spending relaxing time drinking tea against the backdrop of Seongsan Ilchulbong, showcasing a lifestyle in harmony with Jeju's unique natural environment. She explained the changes in her personal life, stating, "I started my first independent life in Jeju and am currently in my third year of residing here."

However, contrary to the romantic image presented outwardly, the actual living environment accompanied realistic problems caused by high humidity and climatic characteristics. Inside the house, frames warped due to humidity and traces of mold on the walls were confirmed, directly showing the impact of the maritime climate on the living space.

Regarding this, Kwon Yuri explained, "Managing humidity is the most important thing on Jeju Island," and mentioned the necessity of a lifestyle tailored to regional characteristics, adding, "I am controlling the indoor environment using products such as fragrances."

Additionally, the video captured scenes of her responding to the appearance of insects. She showed a flustered reaction to the sudden appearance of bugs, revealing a realistic response to the lifestyle variables that occur in island living environments.

Along with this, Kwon Yuri was also shown gathering seaweed directly from the sea to secure food ingredients. She emphasized a way of life that coexists with the local ecological environment, explaining the process of securing ingredients through natural gathering as "a method of harvesting only as much as needed."
