IVE's Jang Won-young inspires hiking enthusiasts in new outdoor shoot
IVE's Jang Won-young proves her fashion icon status in Eider's 2026 FW collection, blending functional outdoor gear with signature elegance.
IVE's Jang Won-young has once again proven her status as a fashion icon, showcasing her signature elegance and presence even in functional outdoor wear.

Outdoor brand Eider released its 2026 Fall/Winter (FW) season pictorial featuring Jang on the 7th. The shoot focuses on the concept of "Real Hikers" who embrace nature and enjoy outdoor activities in their own ways, highlighting both the functionality of outdoor clothing and its aesthetic appeal as everyday fashion.
In the released pictorial, Jang pulled off various seasonal looks, ranging from transitional jackets and outerwear to voluminous winter down jackets. While hiking apparel typically prioritizes functional elements like mobility, warmth, and wind/water resistance, Jang transformed these items into high-fashion statements through restrained poses and her signature sophisticated expressions.

The styling, which emphasized silhouettes and material textures over exaggerated decorations, complemented Jang's proportions to create a clean yet vivid image. The fact that her unique persona remains consistent even in outdoor wear—rather than just in flamboyant stage costumes—demonstrates that she serves as a muse who conveys the aesthetic identity of fashion brands, moving beyond the role of a typical idol model.
This is not Jang's first foray into outdoor fashion. She has previously blurred the lines between daily life and outdoor activities through various seasonal pictorials for Eider. During the 2026 Spring/Summer season, she also participated in an Eider shoot alongside Nam Joo Hyuk, proposing outdoor styles that combine functionality with design.

This shift aligns with recent trends in the outdoor market. As outdoor clothing evolves from specialized equipment for hiking and camping into lifestyle fashion encompassing commuting, travel, and urban living, brands are placing as much importance on design and cultural image as they do on functionality. Jang's latest pictorial is a prime example of this "urban outdoor" trend.
Since their debut in 2021, IVE has expanded its presence in both domestic and international music markets through a string of hits such as "ELEVEN," "LOVE DIVE," and "After LIKE." Jang, in particular, has established herself as a core member driving the group's public recognition by building a powerful individual brand across advertising, fashion, and broadcasting.

Currently, IVE is expanding its global reach through the "SHOW WHAT I AM" world tour. A notable aspect of Jang's career is her ability to master different media grammars—delivering intense performances and stardom on stage while utilizing restrained expressions and silhouettes in fashion editorials.
Ultimately, the essence of this pictorial lies beyond the simple image of "Jang Won-young in hiking clothes." Her ability to reinterpret functional clothing into her own unique style, and her power to maintain a consistent image across different genres and settings, serves as a testament to her status as a premier star.
