Jeong Dong-won's Agency Vows Strong Legal Action Against Slander and False Rumors

Singer Jeong Dong-won's agency, Showplay Entertainment, has announced plans for strong legal action.

On the 29th, the company stated, "We have previously taken measures such as issuing warnings and requesting the deletion of posts regarding malicious slander, defamation, the spread of false information, and the circulation of groundless rumors targeting Jeong Dong-won. Furthermore, in certain cases where the seriousness of the matter was deemed high, we have proceeded with legal responses according to relevant laws and procedures, resulting in actual punishments."

The agency added that they have recently identified activities involving the spread of baseless content under the guise of being a fan, distorting or exaggerating specific situations to induce negative public opinion, inciting conflict within the fandom, and even causing damage to partner companies.

It continued, "While these actions may outwardly appear to be typical fan activities, we are strictly aware of movements intended to damage the artist's image and create confusion within the fandom. We prioritize protecting the artist's rights and interests. Moving forward, we will continue strong legal action without any leniency or settlement regarding the spread of false facts, defamation, malicious slander, and the creation or spread of rumors, as well as impersonating fans or inciting conflict within the fandom."

Jeong Dong-won is currently serving in the Marines. The film 'Jeong Dong-won Fan Concert Film: The Path to Meeting Again,' which captures his first concert held just before his enlistment, will be released next month.
