The Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation announced on June 5 that it had received a donation of 2 million won in Lim Young-woong's name. The money came from the May King of Singers competition prize on Good Star, and it will be used for a care and treatment expense support program for children and teenagers fighting childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare incurable diseases.
Good Star is a platform service where fans who want to support a star's positive influence gather their goodwill and turn it into donations. This latest donation was made possible by the generous support of Yeongung Sidae, Lim Young-woong's fandom.
Including the prize money from this King of Singers competition, the cumulative amount donated in Lim Young-woong's name through Good Star has reached 128.02 million won. The foundation emphasized that this is not a one-time event, but a continuation of steady good deeds through ongoing giving. It said these sustained donations are a major help in improving treatment conditions for young patients' families and supporting their economic and emotional stability in daily life.
The latest contribution will go toward the care and treatment expense support program for child and adolescent patients aged 19 or younger. The purpose of the program is to ease the financial burden on families of young patients by helping cover costs that arise during long-term treatment, including caregiving expenses, living expenses, and meal costs.
The Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit foundation registered with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2001. For children with childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare incurable diseases, it carries out systematic welfare projects across multiple areas, including medical treatment expense support, care and treatment expense support, emotional support, and shelter operations.
