Ahn Jung-hwan's Bold Remark on Chairman Chung Mong-gyu Sparks Reaction from Kim Nam-il
Former footballers Ahn Jung-hwan and Kim Nam-il discuss the KFA leadership and the 2026 World Cup on the Tikitaka Talk Show.
On the 28th, former football players Ahn Jung-hwan and Kim Nam-il, along with caster Yoon Jang-hyun, appeared on the TikTok variety program 'Tikitaka Talk Show.' They discussed the South Korean national football team's failure to advance to the Round of 32 in the 2026 North America World Cup.

Caster Yoon Jang-hyun remarked, "Using a photo of Ahn Jung-hwan in the thumbnail or main image is what drives up the views." Ahn Jung-hwan expressed his frustration, saying, "I saw Chairman Chung Mong-gyu of the Korea Football Association at an event, and I asked, 'Aren't you going to say hello?'"
At this, Kim Nam-il shouted, "Don't do it. Don't do it!"
Ahn Jung-hwan explained the situation, saying, "I was greeting the elders there, and when I saw Chairman Chung, I greeted him. Does it make sense to be greeting everyone and then skip only Chairman Chung? That just isn't right." Yoon Jang-hyun agreed, saying, "That isn't right in the human world."
However, Kim Nam-il expressed concern for his older colleague, saying, "The reason I'm saying that is because when you act like that, you keep getting criticized." Yoon Jang-hyun also sided with Kim Nam-il's sentiment, adding, "We don't like seeing you get criticized."
Ahn Jung-hwan drew a line, stating, "It's because I don't want to be like those people," noting that he has not entered the Association during the 14 years that Chung Mong-gyu has served as Chairman.
