Cho Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho Meet Ryu Jun-yeol on a Hike: Reality Variety Born From Chance
Cho Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho unexpectedly ran into Ryu Jun-yeol while hiking Gwanaksan, creating an unscripted variety-show moment.
Actors Cho Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho delivered an especially memorable laugh after running into an unexpected figure during a hike on Gwanaksan Mountain. The encounter, which happened while the two were filming a climbing outing, drew attention because it was not a staged variety-show setup but a naturally funny moment created by a real situation.

On June 26, the YouTube channel Channel Cho Jung-seok released new content titled “What Happens When You Go to Gwanaksan with Yoon Kyung-ho ft. Just the First Verse.” The video followed Cho Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho as they climbed Gwanaksan together, capturing both their candid conversation and the surprise meeting that unfolded along the trail.
That day, the two actors struggled with a hiking course that was far from easy. Although both are used to standing in front of cameras as actors, the actual mountain trail left them unable to hide their heavy breathing and sweat, revealing a more human and unguarded side of them.
Then an unexpected incident occurred on the shoot. When a staff member fell while moving along the route, Cho Jung-seok immediately showed concern and checked on the person’s condition. The moment naturally showed him putting people before filming.
Right then, a man approached the two actors and asked to take a photo. Even after being told that filming was in progress, he continued to ask, and Cho Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho eventually agreed to take the picture so the situation could end smoothly.
After the photo was taken, however, the two discovered something they had not expected. The person who had asked for the picture was none other than actor Ryu Jun-yeol.
Cho Jung-seok could not hide his surprise, saying, “What is this, Ryu Jun-yeol. What are you doing?” Yoon Kyung-ho also reacted warmly, saying, “I did not recognize you at all.” Although the actors are used to cameras and public attention, the fact that they failed to recognize each other in the unexpected setting of a mountain made the situation even funnier.
Ryu Jun-yeol explained that he had been on his way down the mountain, and the three actors naturally continued talking as they enjoyed the unexpected meeting. The fact that Ryu Jun-yeol had first approached them like an ordinary hiker asking for a photo added to the humor, making the coincidence feel like a scene from a film.
Cho Jung-seok looked back on the moment and said, “I was a little scared. I was really startled.” Yoon Kyung-ho then made everyone on site laugh by saying, “Today is going to be huge. Let’s use Ryu Jun-yeol for the thumbnail.”
Ryu Jun-yeol explained that he pretended to ask for a photo because he had actually experienced similar situations before. By turning an everyday episode that comes with being a famous actor into humor, the scene also showed how the three actors communicate with the public at close range.
The comfortable chemistry among the three continued during the hiking conversation that followed. When Cho Jung-seok asked how much farther they had to go, Ryu Jun-yeol joked, “You just have to go two more times as long as the time you have already climbed,” showing the relaxed ease of someone comfortable with hiking.
Ryu Jun-yeol drew attention in particular by revealing that he is working through “Korea’s 100 famous mountains.” It was a hobby that fit an actor who has steadily shown interest in nature, travel, and the environment. He also joked about the difference in stamina between the two others, saying, “Kyung-ho hyung looks like he walked here, and Jung-seok hyung looks like he came by helicopter,” bringing more laughter.
The meeting meant more than a simple guest appearance. Although they are entertainers, the sight of them meeting and talking naturally in the space of a mountain, as people also living ordinary daily lives, offered a relaxed feeling that is not often seen in conventional variety programs.
Above all, Cho Jung-seok, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Ryu Jun-yeol showed playful and approachable sides in the video, in contrast to the strong images they have presented through their respective works. The episode highlighted their more personal charm.
It was a moment when an accidental encounter in an unexpected place became the biggest source of fun in the content. The “jamanchu,” or pursuit of a natural meeting, episode created by the three actors on Gwanaksan remained as a scene showing the power of unvarnished laughter.
