Heo Kyung Hwan Steps Down from Chicken Breast Business After 2.7 Billion Won Fraud by Business Partner
Entertainer Heo Kyung Hwan reveals why he stepped down from his 15-year chicken breast business and shares his experience of being defrauded of 2.7 billion won.
Entertainer Heo Kyung Hwan has candidly shared the background of his decision to step down from the management of the chicken breast brand he operated for approximately 15 years, along with his past experience of falling victim to fraud by a business partner.

In a video recently released on the YouTube channel ‘Jeong Il-yeong’s Malicious Introvert,’ Heo Kyung Hwan provided updates on his business and broadcasting activities. He revealed that while he is currently a regular on several variety shows, he has concluded his management role in the food business he had personally operated for a long time.
“I operated the chicken breast brand for 15 years, but I finalized the transition following a corporate merger last year,” Heo Kyung Hwan explained. “Currently, I am only active as the brand model.” He added that the reason he stepped back from business operations was that “there wasn't much I could do directly anymore.”
Reflecting on his business experience, he also mentioned the risks involved when celebrities participate in business ventures. “There are many cases where celebrities put their names on a business and end up taking on unexpected responsibilities,” Heo Kyung Hwan said, adding, “Even if you receive business proposals from those around you, you must judge carefully.”
In particular, he revisited his past experience of being defrauded by a business partner. “I took on responsibility for nothing and ended up suffering greatly,” he said, sharing his case and emphasizing the importance of business structure and decision-making processes. Although his remarks were delivered with a touch of humor, they carried weight as advice stemming from real-life experience.
Since establishing his specialized chicken breast brand in 2010, Heo Kyung Hwan has steadily expanded his food business. During the process, it was noted that he once suffered a fraud loss of approximately 2.7 billion won from a business partner, but the brand continued to achieve consistent growth thereafter.
According to industry sources, the brand expanded its scale through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and was recently reported to have recorded annual sales of around 70 billion won. Heo Kyung Hwan is currently not directly involved in management, instead working as the brand model while balancing broadcasting and personal activities.
