Kang Yu-mi opens up about past marriage on MBC's 'Where Is My Home'

Comedian Kang Yu-mi spoke candidly about her past marriage, four years after her divorce. She revealed that she and her husband already used separate spaces during their marriage, adding the poignant remark, "One divorce is enough for me."

During the episode of MBC's "Where Is My Home" aired on the 13th, Hong In-kyu and Kang Yu-mi were seen searching for a home for children.

During the broadcast, Jang Dong-min introduced Hong In-kyu and exposed his unusual living situation. Hong lamented, "My eldest is a high school senior. I should have been the one on 'Where Is My Home,' but I'm currently sleeping in my youngest child's room."

Jang drew laughter when he revealed, "Doesn't Hong In-kyu have long hair? His mother-in-law thought he was the youngest child while he was sleeping and kissed him on the cheek." Hong retorted, "It's been awkward with my mother-in-law ever since.""

Jang also mentioned that he had offered interior design advice when Hong was first setting up his home. "I told him, 'You need your own space,' but Hong rejected it, saying, 'I can't even enter my own house properly, so what do you mean my own space?' That's why you're crashing in the youngest child's room now," Jang said.

Hong explained, "We used to sleep together, but as the child grew up, I was kicked out of the room. So now I sleep in the living room."

As the conversation shifted toward how marital and personal spaces naturally separate as children grow, the focus turned to Kang.

When Jang brought up her past, asking, "Do you remember the old days? When you were married?" Kang replied calmly, "It was short, but I remember."

When Jang followed up by asking if she had her own space back then, Kang said, "We each had our own. That's when we started using separate rooms. One divorce is enough for me."

While the remark sounded like a brief joke, it drew significant attention as she directly addressed both the separate sleeping arrangements during her marriage and her divorce. However, Kang did not elaborate on the specific reasons for the marriage or the divorce process.

Kang married a non-celebrity in August 2019 and divorced approximately three years later in 2022. Because she has remained private about her personal life since then, her brief, composed comments during the broadcast drew widespread interest.
