Kim So Young Moved by Handwritten Letter from Daughter After Scolding Her

Broadcaster Kim So Young shared her tender maternal feelings toward her elementary school daughter, Sua, on her SNS on the 25th.

Expressing her concern for her daughter, she said, "A few days ago, Sua spent a long time in front of the closet, struggling with putting clothes on and taking them off, so I scolded her a bit strictly. After sending her to school, it kept weighing on my mind."

She left a handwritten letter for her daughter and shared that upon returning home after work, she received an unexpected reply. The revealed letter read, "Mom, I'm sorry. I love you too, but I was a little scared when I got scolded this morning. Mom, I'm sorry. I love you."

Kim So Young opened up about her bittersweet feelings toward her daughter, saying, "A child who used to look only for crowns, dresses, lace, ribbons, and sparkly shoes suddenly spent a long time in front of the closet choosing clothes that she thought her friends would look at the least. Last week, she suddenly said, 'I'm going to cut my hair into a bob.' For a moment, a wave of sadness washed over me. Actually, I was the one who had been asking her to cut her hair for two years, but when she finally said she would, my heart felt strange."

In a photo, Sua, now sporting a bob, is seen wearing a yellow striped dress and carrying a bag. Kim So Young showed her improved mood, stating, "Seeing her with the bob made her look so cute that my heart was healed. The older sisters were right when they said, 'The princess stage is truly short.' I finally feel like I've become a mother to an elementary schooler."

Kim So Young is married to Oh Sang Jin, a former fellow MBC announcer, and they have a daughter, Sua.
