Comedian Park Young-jin moved to tears at Park Sung-kwang's wedding

Comedian Park Young-jin has opened up about his deep affection for his colleague and friend of 26 years, Park Sung-kwang. In particular, he shared how he ended up shedding tears while serving as the emcee at Park's wedding, drawing renewed attention to the long-standing bond between the two.

On the morning of the 10th, comedians Park Seong-ho, Park Young-jin, and Jung Bum-kyoon appeared on KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' to host the 'Legendary Master' segment.

During the broadcast, Park Young-jin began by discussing his special relationship with Park Sung-kwang. The two are colleagues from the same KBS comedian class and have been together for 26 years since they began their comedy careers.

Park expressed his unique affection for Park, saying, "He is a friend who is even funnier just to watch." He continued, "That friend has leadership. If it weren't for Sung-kwang, I wouldn't have been able to do comedy," reminiscing about how much Park helped him become the comedian he is today.

In particular, Park confessed that because of his introverted nature, he was not accustomed to proactively pushing forward with things. He explained that Park led him along, sometimes so actively that he described it as being "grabbed by the collar and pulled along."

The connection between the two began during their college years.

Park recalled his long period of obscurity, saying, "From the age of 20, I took the KBS exams, failed, failed again, and finally passed after seven years." He noted that while he thought he could handle failing a few times at first, his anxiety grew with the repeated failures, and he even considered returning to his hometown.

It was the words Park spoke to him at that time that changed his life.

"Sung-kwang told me, 'I'll take responsibility, so just trust me one more time and let's do this,'" Park recalled. He explained that during a time when it was difficult to be certain of success as a comedian, his friend's faith led him back to the stage.

The moment he first met Park was also vivid. Park said that when he first saw Park at a college OT, he was an exceptionally funny person. He was a friend who led the atmosphere to the point that everyone flocked around him, whereas Park sat quietly in a corner.

At that time, Park approached him first and said, "I think you're really funny," and Park suggested they join forces, saying he would start a comedy club. That connection, which began that way, eventually lasted for 26 long years.

The most touching part of their relationship was Park's wedding.

When Park Myung-soo asked, "Did you cry when Park Sung-kwang got married?" Park revealed that he was the one who emceed the ceremony.

He said he initially intended to host the ceremony with a bit of a playful tone, utilizing his signature comedic sense. However, the moment he looked at Park standing at the end of the aisle, his heart changed.

"I first saw him when he was 20. He's doing so well now, but back then, he required a lot of care. I had to clean up after him a lot," Park said. "He felt like a child I had raised and was now sending off."

As Park walked from the other side of the wedding hall, he no longer felt like just a 'friend,' but like a younger brother he had grown up with.

"Isn't Sung-kwang quite petite? Since he was so far away, it felt like a little groom was walking in," Park confessed. "I was overcome with emotion. I choked up and tears came to my eyes."

He went on to explain the moment when memories of their long time together rushed back, saying, "I followed him everywhere, even when he went to the military."

Though both men have professions centered around creating laughter, in their most important moments, tears preceded laughter.

Park's confession drew even more interest as it coincided with recent divorce rumors surrounding the couple of Park Sung-kwang.

Park married former actress Lee Sol-yi in 2020. Subsequently, speculation spread that there might be problems in their relationship after Lee mentioned differences in past relationships and values on her SNS, stating, "There is a past I want to erase."

However, Lee immediately clarified her post, saying, "We are doing well without regrets," and added, "The past I want to erase is just a bit of 'hooking' to express my thoughts." She further drew a line against the divorce rumors by adding, "Embracing those differences is what love is."

Park also showed their continued affection by 'liking' Lee's posts and leaving comments such as "Oh~ You look great!!!"

Ultimately, the recent divorce rumors seem to have been settled by the couple's own explanations and actions.
