YouTuber Eom Eun-hyang begins two-week health retreat at Im Sung-han's home

YouTuber Eom Eun-hyang has moved into the home of drama writer Im Sung-han for a two-week health retreat to recover from burnout and manage health issues following vascular tumor surgery.

YouTuber Eom Eun-hyang entered drama writer Im Sung-han's home on August 5 to begin a two-week health management program. The residential stay aims to help Eom overcome burnout following surgery for a vascular tumor she underwent this past April.

YouTuber Eom Eun-hyang, who has 660,000 subscribers, has entered the home of drama writer Im Sung-han. Seeking a special sanctuary to overcome burnout, Eom has begun a two-week health management program under the guidance of Im. The move has piqued viewer curiosity as it reveals the interior of Im's home, which has previously been shrouded in mystery.

A video titled "VLOG before being trapped in writer Im Sung-han's house [Im Sung-han's Healthy Rearing]" was recently released on Eom Eun-hyang's YouTube channel. In the video, Eom revealed that she had been living in her office, eating and sleeping there, in an attempt to overcome burnout. It was an effort to recover her body and mind through a new method, moving away from a lifestyle where the boundaries between work and rest had collapsed.

This special residential program stemmed from Eom's health issues. She underwent surgery for a vascular tumor this past April, and upon hearing this, Im Sung-han expressed interest in her health management through a direct phone call. Im emphasized the importance of improving dietary habits to Eom, even sharing her own health experiences.

During the call, Im stated, "If you drink cold sikhye, such things are bound to happen," referring to her own case. She explained, "In my case, something that might have been osteosarcoma was protruding near my nose. I tried to get a biopsy, but because it was Chuseok, they said we should do it after Chuseok because there wasn't time." She also shared that her symptoms decreased after she changed her dietary habits.

Im then proposed to Eom, "If you fix your dietary habits immediately, they started to decrease from the next day. I will meet you for one day and teach you my health know-how. Can you stay trapped for two weeks?" The residential program was established after Eom accepted the special proposal for health. The scheduled move-in date was August 5.

On the day she finally entered Im Sung-han's house, Eom Eun-hyang could not hide her excitement and nervousness. "The writer gave me strict instructions not to bring any health supplements at all," she said, jokingly adding, "Normally, shouldn't you take something like vitamins when you catch a cold? Since I can't eat anything at all, I feel like I should take one before I go." This moment offers a glimpse into Im's strict policies regarding health management.

Upon arriving at Im Sung-han's house, Eom Eun-hyang passed through a luxurious apartment lobby and elevator to enter the interior. The overwhelming atmosphere of the guest room, in particular, caught the eye. The white-toned room featured a king-sized bed and a magnificent chandelier on the ceiling, reminiscent of a luxury hotel. Parts of Im's private space, which had rarely been shown to the public, were revealed, drawing significant interest.

However, this filming was conducted under the condition that Im Sung-han would not appear directly. Eom explained, "The filming conditions were agreed upon with the condition that the writer is not filmed." Indeed, the video focused on the interior of the house and Eom's daily life instead of Im's appearance. A preview for the next episode increased anticipation by showing Eom marveling at food prepared by Im.

The scenes in the preview video also drew attention. The luxurious interior was highlighted as parts of the marble-decorated living room were revealed, and Eom was captured using exercise equipment provided in the house. The unique concept of "healthy rearing" elicited laughter as she was seen lying comfortably on the bed, enjoying leisure as if in her own home. Interest is now focused on the full-scale residential life and health management process that will unfold at Im's house.

The connection between Eom Eun-hyang and Im Sung-han is not a new one. Eom has consistently parodied Im's works, and in a past live broadcast, she had raised expectations by announcing that Im would appear. However, only an empty chair with Im's name tag appeared on the broadcast, and the actual appearance took place via telephone. When criticism followed from viewers at the time, Eom apologized on her YouTube channel for the false broadcast. This time, the development differs from the past controversy as she has actually visited Im's home to begin the residential stay.

Im Sung-han is a figure known for unique narratives and unconventional settings in Korean dramas. She has presented numerous works, including See and See Again, which recorded a 57.3% viewership rating, as well as Miss Mermaid (47.9%), Dear Heaven, Opposites Attract, Jewel Bibimbap, New Tales of Gisaeng, Princess Aurora, Apgujeong Midnight Sun, Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce), Durian's Affair, and Doctor Shin. She has enjoyed public popularity, earning the unique moniker of a writer whose dramas are "watched while cursing" due to extreme conflicts and unpredictable developments.

In particular, unconventional lines such as "Cancer cells are also life" and "Mother, I love you. As a woman, not a daughter-in-law" delivered a powerful shock to viewers at the time of broadcast, simultaneously causing controversy and generating buzz. Im, who has triggered debates with settings and lines that defy common sense in every work, is now creating a new story not in a drama, but in her own home. Attention is focused on what kind of health management and unexpected scenes will follow during Eom's two-week stay.
