Art Docent Jeong Woo-cheol, Who Had Given Up on Marriage, Weds YTN Anchor Eom Ji-min
YTN anchor Eom Ji-min, a former Miss Korea contestant, and art docent and author Jeong Woo-cheol marry on the 18th. Both shared their feelings about the wedding.
Art docent and author Jeong Woo-cheol says he had set marriage aside after choosing his profession because of practical concerns. Today (the 18th), he weds Eom Ji-min, a YTN announcer and former Miss Korea contestant.
"A new starting line"
"When I chose this profession, I gave up on the idea of marriage because of practical problems," Jeong said. "But thanks to the good people who always supported me, my work went well, and along the way I met someone I love so much and now stand at a new starting line in life." As he explained it, practical worries had made marriage hard to imagine while he pursued his career, but with the support of those around him he has found new opportunities in both work and love.
He did not hide his affection for his bride. "Having met such a beautiful and thoughtful other half, I think I'm a very lucky man," Jeong said. By mentioning her depth of thought and inner charm as well as her outward beauty, he showed a special regard for Eom. The sentiments the couple shared go beyond simple excitement and reflect trust in a relationship built on respecting and supporting each other's lives and work. Congratulations and good wishes continue to pour in for the pair, who walk different paths and now begin a new chapter as life partners.
Two careers, from the news desk to the gallery
Jeong, born in 1989, works as an art docent and author, presenting artworks and the stories of artists to the public in an accessible and entertaining way. He has appeared on Jeong Woo-cheol's Art Theater, Sangam-dong Class and tvN's You Quiz on the Block, reaching audiences unfamiliar with art. Interest is also growing in how he and broadcaster Eom came to know each other and eventually marry.
Eom, born in 1990, is a former Miss Korea contestant who worked at Yonhap News TV, G1 Gangwon Minbang and SBS CNBC before becoming a YTN anchor, her current role. Having worked in a range of broadcast settings, she has established herself as a news presenter and meets viewers with professionalism and steady delivery.
Family and close friends invited
The couple hold their wedding on the 18th with family and close acquaintances invited. Earlier, Eom announced the news on her social media account. "I met someone who supports me in whatever I do. I feel as though I've gained a lifelong cheering squad," she wrote. Her words, that she had found someone who trusts and backs her choices whatever they are, conveyed both the excitement before the wedding and what the relationship means to the two.
