Kang Sung Yeon reflects on the value of family after remarriage
Actress Kang Sung Yeon shares her Chuseok holiday preparations and heartfelt reflections on family following her remarriage to Jang Min Wook.
Actress Kang Sung Yeon revealed a holiday meal she prepared herself for Chuseok. However, what drew more attention than the food itself were the "cooking secret memos" densely covering the walls of her refrigerator, capturing her devotion to her family following her remarriage.

Recently, Kang wrote on SNS, "The taste of living. This Chuseok makes me realize once again that my true supporters, whether they are loved or disliked, are ultimately my family. I hope you do not get sick. And I hope today is even a little bit happier than yesterday."
The released photos featured a list of holiday dishes, ranging from taro soup to braised beef short ribs, fernbrake namul, and seaweed stem namul. In particular, the refrigerator was covered with memos she personally wrote, detailing the cooking order, seasoning ratios, and ingredient preparation methods for each menu item. It was a level of meticulousness far removed from a casual home-cooked meal.
The actual cooking process was also no small feat. She individually rounded the edges of chestnuts, carrots, and radishes, and soaked the ribs to remove blood before boiling them thoroughly. After stir-frying various seasoned vegetables and pan-frying fish pancakes until golden brown, she completed the braised beef short ribs. Watching Kang adjust seasonings while cooking in the kitchen, she showed the qualities of a cooking expert.
This Chuseok scene drew even more attention as it overlapped with her recent change in family status. In May, Kang announced her remarriage to neurologist Jang Min Wook. At the time, she expressed her affection for her husband, saying, "Everything I do with you feels like a miracle. Let's live kindly and peacefully like that."
Jang is a neurologist who specializes in neurological fields such as headaches, dementia, and brain aging, and has appeared in various broadcasts and lectures. The two met through the JTBC program "Dakteodeurui Sseolwangsseollae" in 2022.
Kang married jazz pianist Kim Ga On in 2012 and has two sons, but announced her divorce in 2023 after 10 years of marriage. Having found a new partner and remarried, she shared the message that "true supporters are ultimately family" alongside the food she prepared this Chuseok. Rather than the holiday of a glamorous celebrity, the sight of her wearing an apron for her family left a deep impression.
