Kangnam travels to Japan for 2026 Asian Games commentary as Lee Sang-hwa jokes about his nose

Singer Kangnam traveled to Japan for a commentary schedule related to the 2026 Asian Games, while his wife, Lee Sang-hwa, did his makeup and joked that his nose was “fake.” The exchange, shown in a video on his YouTube channel Neighborhood Friend Kangnami, brought renewed attention to Kangnam’s previously disclosed nose surgery.

The video, released on the 16th, was titled “I went on a three-night, four-day Japan schedule with my supportive queen, Sang-hwa!” It showed Kangnam leaving for Japan to attend the scheduled commentary work and Lee Sang-hwa accompanying him and looking after him.

“I don’t know why I’m going, but thankfully KBS invited me. Thank you,” Kangnam said of the schedule. After arriving in Japan, he prepared for his commitments. The next morning, as the couple got ready to go out, Lee Sang-hwa helped apply his makeup, saying, “When he doesn’t go to a salon, I do it for him.”

While doing his makeup, Lee Sang-hwa joked, “His nose is fake, so he has to be careful.”

Kangnam had publicly disclosed his nose surgery last year. At the time, while sharing that he had lost 13 kilograms, he said it had been about two weeks since the operation. He explained that he had surgery because his nose bridge was crooked and he wanted to address his breathing as well.

He also said reactions to his appearance had changed after the surgery and weight loss: “After I had nose surgery and lost weight, there were so many comments saying I was handsome,” he said.

Kangnam married former national speed-skating team member Lee Sang-hwa in 2019. The couple have shared candid, humorous glimpses of their life together on television and YouTube, drawing ongoing attention.
