Actor Kim Jae-young surprised audiences by revealing a past where he lost a staggering 30kg to debut as a model. While he currently captures attention with his tall stature, distinct features, and stylish long hair, it was revealed that he could not easily achieve his dream of being a model during his youth due to his weight.

On the 13th, Kim Jae-young and Nam Ji-hyun, the lead actors of the TVING original series "Make Me Tremble," appeared on the SBS variety program "Whenever Possible," showcasing their witty conversation. During the broadcast, Kim Jae-young shared the story of how he began his entertainment career as a model, revealing an unexpected past.

Kim Jae-young stated that he started his modeling career late, citing his childhood physique as the reason. He surprised the cast by revealing, "It's because I was fat when I was young." This was quite different from his current sharp image. He explained that it wasn't that he naturally managed his body while working as a model, but rather that he set the goal of becoming a model and lost a full 30kg to debut.

Weight loss was the first hurdle Kim Jae-young cleared toward his dream. Regarding the process of expanding his field from modeling to acting, he humbly said, "I was working as a model and luckily transitioned into acting." While he may seem to have become a star instantly due to his innate visuals, behind that lies the time he spent losing weight and challenging a new field to achieve his goals.

Kim Jae-young debuted as a model in 2011 and expanded his acting career after being cast in the 2013 film "No Breathing." Based on the experience gained on the fashion stage, he challenged himself in acting and has since solidified his position as an actor. With the revelation of his past 30kg weight loss added to his history as an actor from a modeling background, his current appearance feels even more fresh.

Upon hearing the story, MC Yoo Jae-suk did not hold back his praise for Kim Jae-young's appearance. Yoo Jae-suk expressed admiration for Kim Jae-young's handsome visuals, suggesting that no matter which field one is in, people with striking looks are bound to be scouted. In particular, his long hairstyle, which has become his trademark, became a topic of conversation.

Yoo Jae-suk reacted by saying, "As expected, handsome men suit long hair," noting that there are certain people who can pull off long hair well. He drew laughter by mentioning that even if he tried to follow the long hair trend, he wouldn't be able to pull it off properly. He further added that long hair looks much better when supported by a certain level of visual appeal, expressing envy for Kim Jae-young's style. After achieving his dream of being a model through a 30kg weight loss, he has now drawn admiration from Yoo Jae-suk as an actor who perfectly pulls off long hair.

The TVING original series "Make Me Tremble," starring Kim Jae-young and Nam Ji-hyun, will be released on the 15th. Expectations are high to see what new charms Kim Jae-young, who started as a model and expanded his field to acting, will show in this work.
