Kim Ji-won's Special Connection to BIGBANG's 'Lollipop Girl' from 10 Years Ago

As actress Kim Ji Won's recent activities were revealed, her connection from 16 years ago has been brought back into the spotlight. The link between Kim and BigBang goes back much further than her career as an actress.

In a W KOREA video released on the 25th, Kim responded to questions about her recent life by saying, “Filming ended in July,” and “I think I spent my time maintaining my daily routine.” While mentioning she spent her break doing fitness and Pilates and spending time with family and friends, she also shared an unexpected detail, revealing, “I recently went to a BigBang concert. It was fun.”

The link between Kim and BigBang dates back to 2010. At that time, Kim appeared in the mobile phone commercial 'Lollipop 2' alongside BigBang, becoming known as the so-called 'Lollipop Girl.' Appearing in the commercial with a fresh image, Kim later grew into an actress, and her past commercial appearances have garnered attention whenever her acting career has flourished.

Sixteen years later, Kim has established herself as one of Korea's leading actresses, while BigBang continues to represent K-pop. The fact that Kim, who shared memories of her debut in her youth, personally visited a BigBang concert venue after all this time is being viewed as a special connection.

Kim will return to television through SBS 'Doctor X,' which premieres on the 9th of next month. She plays the role of Gye Su Jeong, a surgeon with genius surgical skills who stands up against massive corruption.

She described Gye Su Jeong as “the story of Dr. Gye Su Jeong, who is like a lone wolf walking steadily against massive injustice.” She confessed that while her character is not someone who approaches patients emotionally, she herself became deeply immersed in the patients' stories during the filming process.

“The more I met each patient, the more I became emotionally synchronized with them,” Kim said, adding that there were scenes where she felt like she might cry even when she wasn't supposed to. As Kim, who first revealed her face to the public 16 years ago as the 'Lollipop Girl,' returns with a new project, the news of her attending the BigBang concert is bringing a unique sense of joy to her fans.
