Kim Sook discovers collapsed stone wall at Jeju residence
Comedian Kim Sook discovered a collapsed stone wall at her 220-pyeong home in Jeju, leading her to initially suspect intentional damage before CCTV footage revealed the collapse was natural.
Comedian Kim Sook initially suspected foul play after finding a collapsed stone wall at her 220-pyeong Jeju home, but CCTV footage revealed the damage occurred naturally between 11:30 PM and 6:00 AM. A professional company has since completed the necessary repairs to the structure.
Comedian Kim Sook was left bewildered after discovering a collapsed stone wall upon visiting her home in Jeju. Suspecting that someone might have intentionally damaged the wall, she turned to CCTV footage for answers, only to find that the stone wall had collapsed naturally without any external impact. Following the unexpected incident at her 220-pyeong Jeju residence, Kim Sook attempted to repair the damage herself to manage the situation.
On the 26th, a video titled "Overnight... Sook House's stone wall collapsed" was released on the YouTube channel Kim Sook TV. In the video, Kim Sook arrived at her Jeju home without any specific plans, only to face an unexpected sight: a portion of the stone wall surrounding the house had collapsed. Faced with the sudden change at her peaceful residence, Kim Sook began inspecting the scene to determine the cause.
“I came here without a plan, but the wall was collapsed. The fence. I have to go find the culprit,” Kim Sook said. After inspecting the site, she reacted with shock, asking, “Is this a challenge? Is this a threat? This is really serious. Someone broke our house.” Because she initially suspected someone might have damaged the fence, her priority was to determine whether the collapse was simple property damage or caused by something else.
Kim Sook immediately moved to check the CCTV. She identified the estimated timeframe of the collapse as being between 11:30 PM and 6:00 AM, following a recording of Where Is My Home. Since the incident occurred while she was away from the house, she tracked the cause by checking if any people or vehicles had passed by during that period.
During the process of checking the CCTV and the scene, speculations arose that a truck driver, a PD, or broadcasting staff might have caused the collapse. However, these were merely suspicions raised during the search for the cause. Since the state of the collapsed wall alone could not confirm intentional damage, it was necessary to examine both the video and the condition of the site.
While confirming the cause, Kim Sook also attempted self-repairs to restore the collapsed stone wall. She could not simply leave the sudden problem unattended. However, as a stone wall is a structure made by stacking stones, fixing only the visible parts might not ensure safety, meaning an accurate determination of the cause and professional repair were required.
Upon final review of the CCTV, it was confirmed that no one had knocked down the stone wall. It was revealed that the wall had collapsed naturally rather than being hit by an external force, bringing Kim Sook's initial "search for the culprit" to a close as a happening. Although the sudden collapse was enough to make her suspect someone's actions, the actual cause was not damage by an outsider.
The production team announced the follow-up measures through video subtitles. “After filming, the stone wall repair was safely completed through a professional company,” they stated, noting that the restoration work was finished. They further advised, “Due to the nature of stone walls, they can collapse unexpectedly, so 'ddeng-ddeng-ies' [fans] should never lean on them!” emphasizing safety to viewers in consideration of the possibility of the wall collapsing again.
Kim Sook owns a 220-pyeong house in Jeju. In this video, instead of showing a relaxed life in Jeju, interest was drawn to the unexpected situation of the stone wall suddenly collapsing around her home. While she initially suspected damage and checked CCTV, it was ultimately revealed to be a natural collapse and was resolved through professional repairs. The commotion, from identifying the cause of the collapse to the restoration, remains an unexpected day at her Jeju home.
