Min Kyung-hoon not leaving 'Knowing Bros' after 11 years, JTBC clarifies
JTBC clarifies that Buzz vocalist Min Kyung-hoon is taking a temporary hiatus from 'Knowing Bros' rather than leaving the show permanently.
Rumors that singer Min Kyung-hoon is leaving the JTBC variety show 'Knowing Bros' have been confirmed as untrue. As an original member who has been with the program for approximately 11 years, news of his departure drew significant attention, but JTBC clarified, "It is not a departure, but rather a brief hiatus."

On the 28th, JTBC addressed the rumors regarding Min's departure from 'Knowing Bros,' stating, "Min Kyung-hoon is not leaving 'Knowing Bros'; he is simply taking a brief break."
Previously, reports emerged claiming that Min had decided to leave 'Knowing Bros' after appearing on the show for about 11 years following discussions with the production team. The reports suggested he decided to leave the program to recharge and had recently completed his final recording. However, upon verification, it was found that this is not a permanent separation from the program, but rather a hiatus where he will be absent from the broadcast for a certain period.
For Min, 'Knowing Bros' holds a meaning beyond being just a regular variety show. As an original member who has appeared since the first broadcast in December 2015, he has witnessed the program's growth alongside Kang Ho-dong, Lee Soo Geun, Seo Jang-hoon, Kim Young Chul, and Kim Hee Chul.
In particular, Min built a presence with a unique character that diverged from traditional variety show tropes. While he possessed a strong rock music image as the vocalist of Buzz, he formed a new public image in variety shows by displaying an eccentric and indifferent attitude, unpredictable remarks, and a seemingly clumsy charm. Within the collective talk structure of 'Knowing Bros,' Min's unique character established itself as one of the program's essential comedic elements.
The program also brought significant changes to his life. Through 'Knowing Bros,' Min formed a connection with Shin Gi-eun, who was a PD for the production team at the time, and the two developed a romantic relationship. After dating Shin, who is four years his senior, they married in November 2024, announcing their marriage directly through 'Knowing Bros.'
As Min has been an original member for 11 years, his temporary absence is expected to bring certain changes to the program's composition. Since 'Knowing Bros' relies heavily on the relationships and spontaneous chemistry between members rather than individual characters, the absence of a long-term fixed member may influence the broadcast's atmosphere.
Furthermore, Kim Hee Chul has also recently stepped away from the program for a short time due to health reasons. With two core members absent simultaneously, attention is focused on how the production team will respond, including shifts in the roles of existing members and the utilization of guests.
However, the core of the matter is that Min is not leaving the program. Because JTBC directly denied the term "departure," the possibility remains open for him to return after his break.
Having surpassed 10 years since its launch in 2015, 'Knowing Bros' is facing various changes, including generational shifts among members, individual activities, and fatigue from long-term appearances. In this context, the hiatus of original member Min is expected to serve as an opportunity to rethink the program's long-term sustainability and cast management.
It is not yet known when or in what capacity Min will return to 'Knowing Bros' after catching his breath. However, the official position from JTBC remains clear: the bond between Min and the program he has shared for 11 years is not yet over.
