Park Kyung Hye: "I want to date, but no one looks my way"

Actress Park Kyung Hye reveals she has been single for four years and chooses her career over romance during a recent tarot reading.

“I want to date, but no one likes me.” Actress Park Kyung Hye confessed that she has been single for four years. She drew attention by revealing her romantic ideals, including the fact that she has never even spent Christmas with a partner.

Park Gyeong-hye: "I want to date, but no one looks my way. I've been alone for 4 years."

In a video released on her YouTube channel Gyeonghyebollae on the 27th, Park naturally brought up the topic of dating, saying, “I’ve been feeling the autumn blues lately.” While taking a walk, she thought, “It would be so nice to walk with someone,” and confessed, “I have never spent Christmas with a partner. I really don't know what spending Christmas with a lover is like.”

Her desired date was not even grand. Park said that if she gets a boyfriend, she wants to walk along the Han River together and share many conversations. She noted that when you are with someone you like, you burst into laughter even at trivial things, adding, “If you see someone laughing loudly at the Han River, please pray that it is me,” which drew laughter from viewers.

However, her romantic ideals differed from reality. During a tarot card reading, her first in about three years, Park revealed that her period of not dating has reached its fourth year. When asked why, she answered honestly, “It’s not that I don't want to date, it's that no one likes me.”

What was even more interesting was the choice made between work and love. The tarot reader noted that it is not easy to balance both work and romance amidst a busy schedule and asked which one she would choose if she had to give up one.

To the question, “Could you give up work to date?”, Park answered firmly, “No.”

Ultimately, the choice was unexpectedly simple. While dreaming of romance, Park, who could not give up her career, declared, “I will give up dating.” It was a moment where her romantic wish to laugh loudly while walking along the Han River with a partner on Christmas was momentarily shaken.

While expressing regret over her four-year streak of being single, Park chose her career. Her honest conclusion, drawn between the desire to date and the reality of not being able to give up work, is resonating with many single people.
