Actress Shin Min-a revealed on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" on the 28th that she chose blogging over YouTube to "look hip," though she has only managed to upload three posts in one year.

Actress Shin Min-a has candidly shared her reasons for choosing a blog in an era where countless celebrities are launching YouTube channels. Her reason for selecting a different platform was unexpectedly simple. During a recent appearance, she confessed she did it to "look hip," a statement that prompted laughter from Yoo Jae-suk, who remarked, "Our intuition was correct." She further added to the amusement by revealing that her ambitious blog has essentially stalled, with only three posts made over the course of a year.
During the broadcast of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" on the 28th, Shin Min-a appeared to share updates on her daily life and current status. Mentioning that she opened a blog last year, Yoo Jae-suk noted, "While many others are doing YouTube, the fact that Shin Min-a started a blog actually made her look hip." He explained that choosing a blog centered on text and photos felt fresh in an era dominated by video and short-form content.
Shin Min-a's response was more honest than expected. "To look hip," she admitted with a laugh. Yoo Jae-suk reacted warmly, saying, "Our intuition was correct," as the conversation regarding her choice of platform set a pleasant tone from the start. Rather than presenting a grand philosophy or elaborate plan, her honesty about wanting to show a different charm through a unique choice drew laughter.
However, she was not lacking in motivation at the beginning. Recalling her initial passion, Shin Min-a said, "I started out very diligently." She explained her vision: "I thought if the text was too long, it might feel greasy, so I thought it would be fun to keep it simple and witty along with photos." Her plan was to incorporate her own sense of style and humor by posting photos accompanied by short text, aiming to create a blog that was not just a record of daily life but also enjoyable to read.
But once she began operating the blog, unexpected difficulties arose. "I tried focusing it on travel, but even that wasn't easy," she confessed. Selecting travel photos took a long time, and she had to struggle to find phrases that matched the images. She explained that her desire to write witty text turned into a burden. What started as a light hobby had transformed into a task requiring significant effort in selecting photos and composing sentences.
Ultimately, contrary to her ambitious initial plans, the blog failed to gain momentum. Shin Min-a revealed that because she agonized over the concept and her sense of humor, she has only uploaded three posts in one year. In an online content environment where consistent uploads are vital, three posts is an unexpected result. However, her explanation—that she could not easily post because she constantly worried about the quality and fun of each entry—revealed her characteristic cautious nature.
She also shared honest reflections regarding her sense of humor. "Lately, I feel like I can only be funny to the people I meet," Shin Min-a said, expressing concern about whether her humor would resonate with the general public. She admitted, "I don't think my humor is the kind used in broadcasts or mainstream comedy." It appeared she has realized that jokes she finds funny may not be received the same way by everyone.
Nevertheless, she emphasized that her husband, Kim Woo-bin, is someone who understands her humor well. "Kim Woo-bin is actually someone who understands my humor well," she said, expressing her affection. She explained that while her humor might be somewhat distant from mainstream comedy, she has a unique sense of humor that works with those close to her. Her reflections on running the blog naturally led to discussions about her daily relationship with her husband, drawing further interest.

With YouTube established as the representative communication channel for celebrities, Shin Min-a's choice of a blog was a unique endeavor in itself. However, even the act of posting a single photo and a few lines of text proved difficult as she agonized over the concept and wit. From her honest admission of starting to "look hip" to the reality of having only three posts and her humor being understood by her husband, Shin Min-a's unpretentious confessions provided much laughter.
