Sook Haeng pleads "Please forgive me once" to the wife of the man she had an affair with, revealed through 'texts and recordings'
As trot singer Sook Haeng partially loses a damages lawsuit surrounding her relationship with a married man, controversy is growing again as text messages and call recordings exchanged with the man's wife have been released. In particular, attention is focused on the circumstances revealed where Sook Haeng repeatedly made claims to the effect of "I am also a victim" during a phone call, appealing for leniency.
On the 17th of last month, the Civil Division 7 of the Seongnam Branch of Suwon District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in part in the damages claim filed by A against Sook Haeng. The amount claimed by A was 100 million won, and the court ruled that Sook Haeng must pay 30 million won of this amount along with delayed damages.
Sook Haeng's side has argued that at the time of the relationship, she had already heard from the man, B, that his marriage was effectively broken and that he was facing divorce. However, the court judged that there was insufficient evidence to consider the marriage as already broken and insufficient objective material to recognize that Sook Haeng was deceived by B.
In the midst of this, on the 2nd, text messages and call contents with Sook Haeng, which A reportedly provided, were released through the YouTube channel 'Respect Lee Jin-ho'. It is reported that A provided the relevant materials, stating it is difficult to agree with Sook Haeng's claim that she herself is a victim.
According to the released texts, A claimed to have contacted Sook Haeng in March and July of last year with the intention of settling the relationship with her husband. Subsequently, messages to the effect of "Give my husband back" were also sent through a different number, but it was revealed that Sook Haeng replied with the sentiment that she had never stolen B and that the problems between the couple should be resolved by the two of them.
In the call recording said to have taken place in October last year, more emotional conversations took place. Sook Haeng expressed her apologies, saying she had no intention of breaking up a family, and appealed for leniency. At the same time, she repeatedly made claims to the effect that she also suffered damage, stating she had heard from B that the divorce proceedings were finalized. Looking only at the released content, this is a point where the claims of the two parties directly clash.
The privacy controversy surrounding Sook Haeng was first made known through JTBC's 'Scandal Supervisor' in December last year. At that time, A claimed that her husband left the house while maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a famous trot singer, and CCTV footage showing individuals presumed to be the two was released on the broadcast. Since then, while apologizing for the controversy, Sook Haeng has maintained the position that she was deceived by B and did not properly know the fact that he was a married man and the reality of his marriage.
However, in this first trial ruling, the court saw that there was insufficient objective evidence to support Sook Haeng's claims. It is not yet known whether Sook Haeng's side will appeal against the ruling. It is also necessary to note that since the texts and recordings released this time are materials provided by A's side, they are materials showing the situation where the claims of both sides are clashing, rather than materials that confirm the entire factual relationship itself.
