'I Am SOLO' Season 17 Young-sook's Husband Worried: 'Baby Might Mistake Kim Sang-joong for Dad'
Young-sook (Season 17) from 'I Am SOLO' announced her pregnancy five months after marriage, while her husband shared a humorous concern regarding her unique prenatal education habit of watching crime programs instead of listening to classical music.
Young-sook (Season 17) from 'I Am SOLO' announced her pregnancy news just five months after marriage. However, her husband, who has become an expectant father, has a unique concern. Rather than listening to classical music for prenatal education, his wife turns off the lights every night to watch crime and murder programs. He even shared a humorous worry that the baby might mistake the host of SBS's 'Unanswered Questions', Kim Sang-joong, for the father.
On the 12th, Young-sook (Season 17) appeared on the KBS 2TV 'Malja Show' with her husband. During the appearance, the husband revealed his wife's pregnancy, stating, "I am an expectant father with a baby in my wife's womb." While sharing the joy of married life, the concern he raised was none other than his wife's unique prenatal education habit.
The husband stated, "While other expectant mothers usually do prenatal education by listening to classical music or the sounds of nature, my wife turns off the lights every night and watches programs on SBS featuring Kim Sang-joong." He added, "She only watches dramas or documentaries involving crime, murder, and serial killings." While he expected the typical scene of prenatal education with calm music, his wife's taste was the exact opposite.
The husband's worry did not end there. He confessed, "As the pregnancy progresses, I'm worried that she watches it so every day that when the baby is born, they might mistake Kim Sang-joong for the father instead of me." It was a joke-filled grievance, worrying that the sight of his wife watching crime programs every day might become so familiar that she might come to regard the host, Kim Sang-joong, as family. The studio burst into laughter at the expectant father's quirky concern.
Hearing this, 'Malja Grandma' Kim Yeong-hui formed an unexpected sense of empathy. She joked, "I did prenatal education like that too. It was fun to watch reenactments of villains and serial killers," adding, "I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about classical music. I fall asleep after hearing a few notes." Her honest reaction, stating that the typical way of listening to classical music did not suit her, made the atmosphere even more pleasant.
As audience members shared stories of enjoying crime programs or horror movies while their children grew up well and gentle, Kim Yeong-hui said, "As long as the mother enjoys it very much and finds it fun, it's fine unless she is doing something harmful to the human body." She advised that it is better to comfortably enjoy what one likes rather than lying down forcibly to listen to classical music and getting stressed, adding, "So just leave her alone." However, the conversation exchanged on the broadcast is based on the participants' experiences and opinions and does not medically prove the effects of specific prenatal education methods on a fetus.
Young-sook (Season 17) gained recognition through her appearances on the ENA and SBS Plus dating reality shows 'I Am SOLO' and 'I Am Solo, and Love Continues Afterward'. She has worked as a research professor at Korea University and also drew interest for her past career as a Pilates instructor. In 'I Am SOLO' Season 17, she chose Young-soo, but they did not become a final couple, and later, she drew attention for a love triangle involving Young-soo (Season 6) and Hyun-sook (Season 15) in 'I Am Solo, and Love Continues Afterward'.
Later, Young-sook announced her marriage news by releasing wedding pictorials last February and held her wedding ceremony in May. While the excitement of married life had not yet faded, she shared the joyful news of her pregnancy, and her husband's concern turned toward his wife's unique taste for enjoying crime programs. The pleasant story of an expectant mother choosing 'Unanswered Questions' over classical music and an expectant father keeping watch against Kim Sang-joong drew laughter from viewers.
