'True Education' Kim Mu-yeol addresses controversy regarding Kim Nam-gil's departure: "A story present in every production"

On the 5th, a production announcement ceremony for the Netflix original series 'True Education' (directed by Hong Jong-chan) was held. Director Hong Jong-chan, along with actors Kim Mu-yeol, Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki-joo, and Pyo Ji-hoon, attended the event.
'True Education' tells a story about attempting to restore true educational environments through the fresh setting of a fictional government agency called the School Rights Protection Bureau and the activities of unique characters that break conventional wisdom. It was released on Netflix at 5 PM on this day.
As the production was announced, there were various controversies regarding the original webtoon, including issues of racial discrimination. In particular, controversy intensified when actor Kim Nam-gil, who was considered for the lead role at the time, publicly stated he would not appear in the series, citing the controversies surrounding the original work.
Regarding the noise during the casting process, Kim Mu-yeol attempted to quiet the controversy, saying, "This is something that happens every time a new work is made. The only difference is that many people became aware of it this time. I thought more about what kind of work it was rather than that issue. I hope viewers judge how much I sublimated that pressure through my acting. I believe an actor is someone who speaks through their work. I hope you watch this work and recognize my sincerity."
