Kim Moo-yul and John Cena Look-Alike Buzz Gets Netflix Global’s Nod: “Hey Twin”
Netflix joined the growing look-alike meme after John Cena posted a photo of Kim Moo-yul, now gaining global attention through the series Chamgyoyuk.
As Kim Moo-yul gains global popularity as the lead actor of the Netflix series Chamgyoyuk, the look-alike buzz connecting him with former WWE professional wrestler and Hollywood star John Cena has now reached Netflix’s own official accounts.
After Cena posted a photo of Kim Moo-yul on his social media, Kim responded on June 10 with the comment, “Now you can see me.” The line was a witty twist on Cena’s signature catchphrase from his wrestling days, “You can’t see me,” turning the phrase into a playful reply to the unexpected attention.
Since the release of Chamgyoyuk, overseas viewers have been pointing out the resemblance between Kim Moo-yul and John Cena, with some calling Kim the “Korean John Cena.” Cena’s decision to share Kim’s photo was read as a friendly acknowledgment of that comparison.
Netflix Korea later responded by leaving a GIF of Kim Moo-yul from Chamgyoyuk in the comments, joining in on Cena’s show of support. As the reaction continued to heat up, Netflix’s global official account also entered the meme, commenting, “Hey twin.”
Kim Moo-yul is currently appearing in Chamgyoyuk as Na Hwa-jin, an inspector with the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau.
