In the JTBC weekend drama 'Chairman Kang, the New Employee' (written by Hyun Ji Min, directed by Go Hye-jin), which aired its first episode on the 30th, Choi Seong Group Chairman Kang Yong-ho (Son Hyun-joo) and soccer player Hwang Jun-hyeon (Lee Jun Young) had their souls swapped due to a headbutt accident.

Kang Yong-ho suddenly declared his retirement, saying, "Now I want to enjoy my old age," and instructed the strategic planning team to begin the succession process. He ordered his daughter, Kang Jae-gyeong (Jeon Hye-jin), the president of Choi Seong Chemical, and his son, Kang Jae-seong (Jin Goo), the president of Choi Seong Mulsan, to produce results within a month that would persuade the board of directors, forcing the two into a competition for succession.

As Kang Jae-gyeong and Kang Jae-seong deployed their respective strategies to seize the chairmanship, they carefully monitored Kang Yong-ho's intentions. After capturing Kang Yong-ho secretly contacting Lee Sang-jae (Kim Jong-tae), the executive director of the Choi Seong Group Strategic Headquarters, in a racing vehicle, Kang Jae-gyeong and Kang Jae-seong seized Kang Yong-ho's vehicle. While checking the black box, they caused a traffic accident and fled the scene.

However, it was Hwang Jun-hyeon whose life was shaken by the two. Hwang Jun-hyeon, who suffered the accident immediately after signing a contract with Choi Seong FC, fell into deep despair as his athletic career faced an end while he captured evidence of the siblings' manipulation. Fortunately, Hwang Jun-hyeon discovered a recording of a video call with his grandmother from the time of the accident and deduced that the owner of the hit-and-run vehicle was Kang Yong-ho.

As Kang Yong-ho sensed the crimes of Kang Jae-gyeong and Kang Jae-seong through Hwang Jun-hyeon's story, he proposed covering up the incident by offering 50 billion won in compensation. At that moment, as Hwang Jun-hyeon was writing down the compensation amount for his life after much thought, an accident occurred where he collided heads with the falling Kang Yong-ho.

Later, after waking up in the hospital, Kang Yong-ho fell into immense shock upon realizing the reality that he had entered Hwang Jun-hyeon's body. Furthermore, while news broke that Kang Yong-ho was the true culprit of the Hwang Jun-hyeon hit-and-run accident, Kang Jae-gyeong and Kang Jae-seong gave interviews admitting to it, leaving Kang Yong-ho trembling with a sense of betrayal.

According to the viewership rating research firm Nielsen Korea, the first episode of 'Chairman Kang, the New Employee' recorded a viewership rating of 3.8% in the metropolitan area and 3.7% nationwide.
