Lee Yeon's cafe temporarily closed, but Park So Dam praises her coffee skills

Actress Lee Yeon has shared an update on her life balancing acting with running a cafe. As filming and schedules continue, she has temporarily closed the doors to her Hannam-dong cafe, but revealed that she continues her connection with coffee by running the shop herself during her breaks.

On the 25th, Lee appeared on KBS Cool FM's 'Paul Kim's Music Plaza' alongside Park So Dam, with whom she worked in the film 'The Journey to Gyeong-ju,' to share various stories.

During the broadcast, a listener mentioned that Lee had obtained a barista license and was running a cafe, asking, "Did you personally brew coffee for 'The Journey to Gyeong-ju' team?"

In response, Park So Dam praised Lee's coffee-making skills. "It was so delicious that I asked where she bought the beans, and I often go to the shop she recommends to buy beans and make drip coffee myself," Park said, adding, "I learned about coffee through Yeon."

This implies that Lee's interest and skill in coffee are significant enough to personally teach a fellow actor.

Lee explained that while she currently operates a cafe in Hannam-dong, she has temporarily suspended business as it overlaps with her primary career as an actress. She stated, "I keep the doors open when I am resting," to which host Paul Kim added, "If you are lucky, it will be open, but it might also be closed," drawing laughter.

Lee's cafe operations have been featured on broadcasts in the past. On MBC's 'The Manager,' instead of simply spending her breaks when there is no filming, she was shown obtaining a barista license and running a cafe using a space provided by an acquaintance.

This aligns with Lee's lifestyle. Due to the nature of being an actor, there are inevitable gaps after a project ends, but rather than simply resting, Lee has utilized that time to learn new skills and expand her interests into real-life applications.

Recently, she even underwent physical changes to suit her role, such as gaining approximately 10kg for the film 'The Journey to Gyeong-ju.' The character Lee plays, Yoon Dong-ju, is a professional wrestler whose actions precede her thoughts, a role requiring a strong energy that differs from her existing calm image.

'The Journey to Gyeong-ju' is a family revenge drama about four women who have waited eight years for their youngest daughter, Gyeong-ju, who disappeared during a school trip, and finally embark on a journey for revenge. Park plays the second daughter, Yoon Young-ju, and Lee plays the third daughter, Yoon Dong-ju.

As an actress, Lee shows a completely different side with every project, and her journey of learning coffee and running a cafe is drawing attention. While it is not known when the cafe will officially reopen, there remains a possibility of encountering coffee brewed personally at Lee's Hannam-dong cafe whenever a break arrives.

In particular, interest is growing in whether the cafe, known to be a regular spot for actors like Lee Jong Won, will reopen.
