'Meotjin Sinsegye' Removes Rising Actor Lee Se-hee's Footage After Tae-hee Child Actor Scenes Were Also Cut

The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Meotjin Sinsegye' has drawn attention after unaired footage involving rising actor Lee Se-hee was revealed, following the earlier disclosure that scenes featuring the child version of Tae-hee had also been removed from the broadcast edit.

On June 4, the production team behind the SBS Friday-Saturday drama posted a video on its official YouTube channel titled 'Unaired Special. "Nothing Works Out Because of Shin Seo-ri!" Lee Se-hee's Anger.' The clip presents material that did not make it into the main television broadcast, giving viewers a closer look at a storyline centered on Lee Se-hee's character.

The video shows popular actor Yoon Ji-hyo, played by Lee Se-hee, becoming increasingly angry as she feels herself being pushed aside by Shin Seo-ri, played by Lim Ji-yeon, even though the two characters belong to the same agency. In the broadcast episode, viewers had already seen Yoon Ji-hyo complain after even the agency's CEO appeared to pay more attention to Shin Seo-ri.

The newly released unaired portion continues from that emotional setup. In the deleted scene, Yoon Ji-hyo goes to receive a facial contour massage, but she remains consumed by thoughts of Shin Seo-ri and her anger does not subside. During that moment, she comes face to face with Baek Gwang-nam, played by Kim Min-seok, who arrives while delivering food.

The release of this additional unaired footage comes after it was previously reported that the entire filmed portion featuring the child actor playing Mo Tae-hee, the blind date partner of Cha Se-gye, played by Heo Nam-jun, had been edited out. Mo Tae-hee is played in the drama by Chae Seo-an, and the removed child-role scenes added another example of material that was filmed but ultimately left out of the broadcast version.

On May 31, the mother of child actor Lee Seo-jeong shared her disappointment on her personal social media account. She wrote that Lee Seo-jeong had been selected first through an audition for the role of young Tae-hee and had prepared and filmed for 'Meotjin Sinsegye' with excitement, but that, unfortunately, her scenes were cut from the final edit because the production ran over its allotted length, meaning they could not be seen on television.

Episode 8 of 'Meotjin Sinsegye,' which aired on May 30, marked the full-scale development of the romance between Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun's characters. The episode recorded a nationwide household rating of 10.4 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
