Sunwoo Yong-yeo, Seo Woo-rim's Husband's Cabaret Affair Raid, and Jeon Won-ju Dancing With a Man

Actress Seo Woo-rim opened up about a dramatic episode from her past, recalling the day she went with fellow entertainers Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Jeon Won-ju to confront her then-husband at the scene of his affair.

On June 2, Jeon Won-ju and Sunwoo Yong-yeo appeared on the channel "Jeon Won-juingong," where they visited a hotel buffet, enjoyed a meal together and shared a wide-ranging conversation. As the two longtime colleagues talked about healthy living in old age based on their own experiences, they also brought back the memory of the day they went out to catch the husband of their close colleague Seo Woo-rim.

At the time, Seo Woo-rim had found signs that her husband was having an affair and headed to a cabaret with Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Jeon Won-ju. Jeon Won-ju remembered how urgent the situation felt, saying, "I personally drove the car, picked up Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Seo Woo-rim, and arrived at the scene." When Seo Woo-rim went inside to the place where her husband was, loud shouting soon erupted from within.

Sunwoo Yong-yeo, who had been waiting in the car, was startled by the sound of the door opening. Jeon Won-ju described the shock of what happened next, saying, "My goodness, Seo Woo-rim's husband pushed Seo Woo-rim aside, grabbed the hand of the other woman, and escaped right in front of my eyes." Faced with such brazen behavior from her husband, Seo Woo-rim broke down in the room, crying loudly and bitterly.

Then came a twist that was painful and absurd at the same time. Even after Seo Woo-rim's husband had run away, Jeon Won-ju did not return to the car for quite a while. When Jeon Won-ju finally came back much later, Seo Woo-rim reproached her, saying, "How could you do this, unni? You came to catch my husband, and you were dancing in there?"

It turned out that, in the middle of that tense scene, someone had approached Jeon Won-ju and asked her to dance. Even with the sounds of an argument breaking out nearby, Jeon Won-ju somehow found herself dancing in the arms of a man she did not know. She apologized while also bursting into laughter as she recalled it, saying, "Someone asked me to dance, and I just kept spinning around."

Seo Woo-rim also spoke about her former married life, explaining why she had once chosen to marry her ex-husband. "I married him because I was drawn to the fact that he had graduated from Seoul National University and because of his tall, handsome appearance. At the time of our marriage, we did not even have money for a jeonse deposit, so I struggled, and I even bought a home with the money I earned from broadcasting," she said, confessing that she had been deeply devoted to her husband.

Despite that devotion, her husband was having an affair with another woman at a cabaret. After Seo Woo-rim learned the truth, she divorced him.

Seo Woo-rim's life continued to be marked by hardship afterward. She remarried at the age of 60 and left for the United States, but later returned to Korea. She then endured the grief of losing her second son before his time and suffered from severe depression. In 2013, two years after her son died, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and went through a difficult period of treatment.
