Ko So-young Says It Now Feels Awkward to Be Alone With Jang Dong-gun: "Don't Go"

Actress Ko So-young revisited a deeply personal part of her past on YouTube, taking out the wedding dress she wore at her ceremony 16 years ago and trying it on again. While looking back on that day, she revealed, "I was 48 kilograms when I was five months pregnant."

Ko opened up the private office and hideout she has used since before her marriage, as well as her dress room. The space held clothing and accessories that traced her life from before she became a mother to the present.

She said, "There are clothes I wore before I became a mom. I don't wear them now, but they are so precious to me and full of memories. I hope my daughter Yoon-seol will wear them beautifully someday."

As she moved through the dress room, Ko introduced pieces that reflected what she described as the period when she used her strongest colors. "That was when I wore the best colors. I like colorful things the most," she said, showing floral-patterned dresses, cocktail dresses, multicolored dresses, miniskirts and other items from her wardrobe.

When she came across a luxury Chanel leather cropped jacket, she remembered how boldly she used to style it. "I wore only this jacket with very short shorts. In the past, I showed my stomach. I can't show it now," she said, frankly acknowledging the passage of time.

She then spoke openly about her weight at the time. "I really was thin back then. I was 48 kilograms when I was five months pregnant. But after I got married, my weight has never gone back down into the 40-kilogram range," she said.

Ko also revealed the wedding dress she wore at her ceremony with Jang Dong-gun. She explained that the designer had given it to her as a gift, making it especially meaningful. Looking at the dress, she said Yoon-seol might not wear it for an actual wedding ceremony, but could still somehow put it on and take photographs in it.

Seeing the dress again stirred mixed emotions. "Was I really this thin? I'm sad because I don't think it will fit. I was five months pregnant at the time," she said, acknowledging that she and Jang Dong-gun had conceived before the wedding.

She then explained the circumstances behind the ceremony date and the choice of dress. "I went into marriage with my bridal preparations already made. We originally planned to hold the wedding in January, but the adults looked at the date and said May would be better. I had chosen a simple mermaid dress, but because the wedding was pushed back five months, I thought my stomach would show, so I changed to this more elaborate dress to draw attention elsewhere," she said.

Later, Ko appeared wearing the wedding dress and admitted, "It won't zip up in the back." She acknowledged that she had gained weight since the wedding, but the moment still appeared emotional for her.

"This is how I got married. With Jun-hyuk. It's amazing. This is the first time I've worn it in 16 years since getting married," she said, looking moved as she stood in the dress again after so much time had passed.

Ko also spoke realistically about how her view of married life has changed. "When I got married, I thought, 'I should have a renewal wedding someday.' But now it feels bothersome," she said.

She went on to confess that being alone with her husband now feels unfamiliar because they are usually with their children. "Now it feels awkward to be alone with my husband. We're always with the kids. We went out to eat just the two of us, and an older friend I know said, 'You came out on a date.' I told her, 'It's not a date. It's awkward, so don't go,'" Ko said, candidly describing the changed rhythm of their relationship.
