Zo In Sung Transforms into an Action Hero in 'HOPE' with Director Na Hong-jin

Actor Zo In Sung has met director Na Hong-jin and transformed into a tough guy.

In director Na Hong-jin's new film 'HOPE', Zo In Sung plays the role of Seong-gi, a young man from Hopo Port. He performs high-intensity action sequences himself, completing a character with an extraordinary survival instinct and foreshadowing a new side of himself never seen in his previous works.

Seong-gi is a young man in Hopo Port who does all sorts of odd jobs that make money, and he heads into the mountains to find the entity that has descended upon the village.

Zo In Sung personally performed difficult action sequences, riding a horse through deep forests and across vast national highways. He spoke about his intense collaboration with director Na, saying, "I poured all the energy I had into filming every single scene with care. The filming process itself was a new cinematic experience."

During the world premiere of 'HOPE' at the Cannes Film Festival last May, overseas media also showed interest in Zo In Sung's intense acting. JoBlo stated, "Zo In Sung shows himself as a very cool action hero against the pursuing aliens," while Ioncinema praised him, saying, "The action scene where Zo In Sung appears on horseback is the best sequence in this movie. The character he played establishes himself as a figure who steals the audience's attention with a strong survival instinct."

'HOPE' is a story that begins when Beom-seok, the branch manager of Hopo Port located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears news from the local youths that a tiger has appeared and encounters an unbelievable reality. The film stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In Sung, and Jung Ho-yeon. It is set to be released this summer.
