Choi Yoo-jung on I.O.I's #1 Music Release and the Reality of Earnings in Her 10th Year

Choi Yoo-jung, a member of the recently reunited group I.O.I, spoke candidly about the group's income settlement and the realistic earnings of a singer in her 10th year since debut.
On the 23rd, during the YouTube channel 'Insaeng84', Choi Yoo-jung responded to the question, "Do you give your mother an allowance?" by saying, "I can't give it often, but I do when I can." She continued, "Once I receive the settlement, I will give it to her soon. I met my mom yesterday and told her, 'I think we can do well with this album,' and she immediately replied, 'Let's get along well.'"
Now in her 10th year since debut, she honestly confessed regarding questions about income, "Unless you become truly, incredibly successful, it is not easy to make a profit."
Kian84 remarked, "Didn't you become successful? You placed 3rd on 'Produce 101', released solo albums, and even did musicals. Since 'Produce' was a national program, it felt like it wasn't just watched by idol fans," suggesting that Choi Yoo-jung's income must have been significant given the massive popularity of 'Produce 101' at the time.
I.O.I, who recently reunited after 10 years, released the new song 'Suddenly' and recorded #1 on the music release charts.
Choi Yoo-jung laughed, saying, "Since it was a survival group, there were rankings. Back then, wasn't 1st place Somi, 2nd place Kim Se-jeong, and 3rd place Yoo-jung? Since we are #1 on the music release charts now, people say, 'Jeon Somi did it.'"
Kian84 asked, "If there is 100 million won in profit, how much does Yoo-jung take?" Choi Yoo-jung explained the realistic structure, saying, "They take a lot. There are individual companies and members. I just take what is left."
When Kian84 noted, "You need something left over to stay excited, right?" Choi Yoo-jung emphasized that the meaning of the team activities is greater than the profit, stating, "If you do that, you won't be able to gather. The reunion was thwarted twice before."
