CLC's Kwon Eun-bin Announces Retirement From Entertainment: 'I Was Plagued by Emptiness and Anxiety'
Former CLC member and actor Kwon Eun-bin says she will leave the entertainment industry after completing previously scheduled overseas CLC activities.
Actor Kwon Eun-bin, a former member of the girl group CLC, is retiring from the entertainment industry. The announcement was made through her social media, where she shared a detailed message about the emotional strain she has felt while looking back on her career and thinking about her future.

On June 16, Kwon wrote, "During the long period of activity that began when I was a teenager, I naturally spent more and more time thinking about my past, present, and future as time passed. After a long period of consideration, I have decided to live the life of an ordinary person." She said that when she looked back on the years behind her, much of that time had not been filled with affection or love for her work, but instead with emptiness and anxiety about the present and the future.
Kwon continued, "Rather than making efforts to overcome those negative emotions and that period of time, I spent regrettable time being busy avoiding them and trying to relieve them." Her statement framed the decision not as a sudden break, but as the result of a long internal process that began during the years she spent active from her teens onward.
She also reflected on the way she had used her time in recent years. "For several years, I was wasting precious time on meaningless periods that were not beneficial to me at all, and on relationships that were nothing more than empty shells with no substance to be found," she wrote. Kwon said she felt deep regret over what she called her foolish past, and that she had now decided to leave every emotion and moment behind in order to move toward a better future.
At the same time, Kwon said her current state of mind is different from the one she described from the past. "These days, I am spending time with newer and happier feelings than ever before," she said. She added that she plans to conclude all of her entertainment activities after completing the previously scheduled overseas activities for CLC, marking those commitments as the final part of her career in the industry.
Kwon Eun-bin first became known to the public in 2016 through Mnet's audition program "Produce 101," and debuted that same year as a member of CLC. She later expanded her work into acting, appearing in dramas including "Bad Papa," "Dear.M," and "Duty After School."
In May, Kwon ended her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment. After that, her profile was removed from portal sites, which led to rumors that she might be retiring. One month later, those rumors have been confirmed as true through her own statement.
