(G)I-DLE's Soyeon explores 'Awesome Life' through meditation and tombstones

Soyeon of (G)I-DLE is expanding the universe of her first full-length album with a radical 'Temple' concept. Through teasers combining unconventional elements such as tombstones, meditation poses, and incense holders, she is building a unique aesthetic rarely seen in idol album promotions, heightening curiosity about the new release.

On the 1st, agency Cube Entertainment released the concept photos for Soyeon's first full-length album, 'Awesome Life,' through (G)I-DLE's official channels. These images represent one of the four concepts for the album, the 'Temple' version, putting Soyeon's signature strong self-narrative and experimental image-making at the forefront.

The released photos feature Soyeon appearing to be in meditation alongside objects reminiscent of tombstones. Combined with a restrained spatial composition, deep gazes, and sensual styling, she completes an atmosphere distinct from ordinary pictorials. The 'Stillness' content, whose identity had not been revealed in previous promotion schedulers, also revealed its true form through these concept photos.

The 'Temple' theme aligns with the emotions implied by the album title and the title track. Rather than a title simply praising a glamorous life, 'Awesome Life' is read as a project that views the fatigue of daily life, human relationships, and emotions stemming from professional life through Soyeon's characteristic direct language and humor. In particular, the title track 'I'm Quitting My Job' features entertainer Kian84 as a narrator, unraveling the realistic sentiments of office workers in a more caricatured manner.

Ahead of the release of her first full-length album on the 7th, Soyeon is consecutively releasing various teasing contents.
