Kara's Han Seung Yeon shines in Taiwan despite neck disc issues

Kara's Han Seung Yeon, who recently sparked concern among fans due to neck disc symptoms, has eased those worries by sharing bright updates from Taiwan. While she was seen adjusting her movements on stage to avoid straining her neck, her signature bright smile and stage presence remained as strong as ever.

On the 24th, Han posted several photos taken in Taiwan to her SNS along with the short caption "Taipei." The photos, taken during her local schedule, captured various aspects of her daily life, ranging from her stage outfits to relaxing moments on an airplane.

On stage, she exuded a lovely atmosphere, wearing an off-the-shoulder dress with a large pink ribbon decoration and bright pink makeup. In contrast, she showed a more casual side off-stage, spending leisure time on the plane with a bare face.

Previously, Han had sparked concern among fans when she visited a birthday cafe organized by fans. During the visit, she was captured with severe hand tremors while playing with a toy. As the footage spread online, rumors regarding her health began to circulate.

In response, her agency explained that the hand tremors were related to worsening symptoms of a neck disc. They stated that she is doing her best to refrain from movements that could strain her neck during performances to prioritize her health.

"STEP" is a representative hit song for Kara, characterized by its fast rhythm and dynamic choreography. Because it involves repetitive movements such as large head motions or swaying the upper body, it requires significant movement from the neck and torso.

However, in the video, unlike the other members, Han minimized movements that could burden her neck. She kept her cervical spine relatively straight to reduce head movement and appeared careful to avoid large upper-body swings or movements that could impact her neck and spine.

While there were moments where her movements appeared somewhat awkward, this can be interpreted as a choice to prioritize her physical condition over the perfection of the performance. Instead, Han actively utilized her hand holding the microphone, her opposite arm, and fingertip gestures to maintain the flow of the stage within her limited range of motion.
