Rapper Lee Young-ji changed her hair to black and issued an explanation after her red hair caused political controversy.
On the 31st of last month, Lee Young-ji posted a photo of her hair dyed black on her SNS, writing, "I am sorry for my thoughtless actions. I will not hide behind the cowardly excuse of being ignorant, but instead, I will reflect and learn."
She admitted to being careless, stating, "Even though I clearly recognized it was an important period, my desire to communicate got ahead of me, and I was preoccupied with posting random updates."
She released this statement after controversy arose when she posted photos of red hair and red clothing that could be associated with a specific political party, ahead of the local elections and National Assembly by-elections on June 3. At the time, she shared a photo of her hair dyed deep red and wearing a red shirt, asking, "Isn't my hair color pretty?" She also included Cortis's 'Red Red' as background music.
